Provide medical / scientific expert advice / guidance to key customers for assigned product(s) and relevant therapeutic area(s), including scientific exchange and professional relationship development with External Experts (EEs). Provide medical / scientific input into Medical Affairs strategies for the affiliate medical department and commercial plans, as required, and medical / scientific support for medical department activities under the overall direction of the Affiliate Medical Director. Provide medical affairs support to cross-functional affiliate teams. Ensure that the medical affairs role is fully integrated to support the strategy and execution of affiliate business, while being functionally independent.</p><br><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><br><ol><li>Being an active brand team member to support overall strategy and execution. Provide medical/scientific input into marketing strategy and key commercial initiatives, as required.</li><li>Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge for assigned product(s) / relevant therapeutic area(s) through attendance / participation at key internal meetings/training sessions, relevant congresses, and seminars and by regular self-study of the national/area literature.</li><li>Provide expert medical/scientific advice for assigned products and related therapeutic areas, including responding to requests for scientific/technical information; contribute to the development and medical and scientific accuracy of core dossiers generated by the medical department (i.e., pricing and reimbursement dossiers, HEOR dossiers, medical information packs, clinical expert reviews etc.).</li><li>Establish and maintain professional and credible relationships with External Experts (EEs) and academic centers; this will involve participating in scientific congresses, coordinating advisory boards, round-table meetings, discussion forums etc.</li><li>Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals individually or in groups (meetings, clinical sessions, etc.), where appropriate.</li><li>Screen relevant literature and other information from relevant scientific societies meetings and conferences and develop summaries of key messages for use within the company (e.g. key areas of scientific/company interest, new trends in diagnosis, monitoring and treatments in the therapeutic area, etc.)</li><li>Deliver training to sales forces and other departments; develop and update relevant training materials.</li><li>Clinical Research Activities:<ol><li>Design and implement clinical research projects within defined standards and budgets (e.g., Phase IV, post marketing clinical activities such as registry/database projects, epidemiological surveys, and PMOS studies).</li><li>Provide the required oversight to manage review, approval and conduct of IIS studies.</li><li>Support the affiliate Clinical Research Department in the management of clinical studies, as appropriate (e.g., review new clinical study protocols, identifying potential investigators/sites, conducting feasibility surveys).</li></ol></li><li>Review and preparation of promotional / non-promotional material. Ensure the medical/scientific content is correct, balanced fair and fully compliant with AbbVie’s internal policies and guidelines and in accordance with local laws.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all applicable national laws and regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, AbbVie’s policies and procedures and accepted standards of best practice.</li><li>Provide input, as required, into the development of product or TA specific strategic medical affairs plans for the affiliate medical department and local commercial plans; collaborate and partner with local business partners to ensure that medical activities for assigned products / therapeutic areas are aligned with local business-related strategic plans.</li><li>Ensure adherence to all applicable national laws and regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, AbbVie standards, policies, and procedures.</li><li>Operate as a scientific interface and resource to HCPs/Customer(s), Health Care Institutions, External Experts, and professional associations regarding assigned AbbVie Products or Products in Development.</li><li>Provide specialist medical/scientific strategic input and operational support of core activities such as local clinical research, HCP/Customer interactions, generation and communication of clinical and scientific data, educational initiatives, and patient safety for assigned products / therapeutic areas.</li></ol><br>Qualifications<br><br><ul><li>Advanced degree (e.g. PharmD., PharmB., MD, PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline is preferred but candidates with an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrated experience will be considered</li><li>Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and the role of Medical Affairs to advance the medical and scientific objectives of a pharmaceutical company.</li><li>Prior experience in <strong>Medical Affairs</strong> <strong>required.</strong></li><li>Prior experience in <strong>immunology TA is preferred.</strong></li><li>Demonstrated expertise in the scientific methods applied to clinical research and current legislative/regulatory controls applicable to this research.</li><li>Ability to comprehensively learn about new subject areas and environments.</li><li>Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with thought leaders, physicians, and other healthcare decision makers.</li><li>A good understanding of written and oral English is mandatory.</li><li>Collaborative, team-oriented approach, able to develop and support relationships across an organization as well as with key external stakeholders and the healthcare community at large.</li><li>Experience being an active contributor to cross-functional teams and/or working in matrix organizations will be an advantage. </li><li>Works independently: limited guidance/oversight. The DTE specialist will provide hands-on maintenance support and operational training on the repair of the Radar transmitter Battery Replaceable Units (BRU’s). Systems are computer driven and training will consist of both electronic and mechanical repair for the units under test. Working under a Patriot Test Station Lead, this position will require hands-on operation, maintenance and sustainment of the PAT 243 and PAT 247 Patriot test stations in support of Patriot Configuration 3+ systems. This will include operating troubleshooting and sustaining the coolant oil processing unit and Radar coolant group to ensure oil flow and glycol resistivity requirements are met for system unit operation. This will also include sustaining and troubleshooting converters, inverters and electric circuit’s assembly for the transmission system, by tracking signals and measuring voltage, current and resistance measurements to isolate problems to the component level on the Pat 247 test station. Functionally verifies the operational condition of the PAT 243, 244 and PAT 247 test stations to verify operational status. Demonstrates proper maintenance, sustainment, repair procedures and techniques. Participates in on-the –job training programs. Prepares, fills out and submits maintenance reports, system problem reports (SPR’s) and performs other duties as directed.</p><br><br><br><p><b>This position is located in Kuwait.</b></p><br><br><br><br><p><b> Qualifications You Must Have :</b></p><br><br><p>Must have four (4) years of demonstrated knowledge and experience in the operation, maintenance and sustainment of Dimensional Test Equipment (DTE) Station equipment and for testing, troubleshooting and repairing Patriot electronics Assemblies and Subassemblies to the component level, or equivalent test stations. Experienced in reading and understanding engineering drawings, schematics, books, technical documents and PC software. Demonstrated skills in using general tools and general use commercial test equipment, also in replacing component parts on circuit card assemblies. Must be able to work in extreme desert environments and lift 50 pounds. Must have a good understanding of standard industrial test equipment such as digital volt meters, high voltage probes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters and oscilloscopes. A Secret Security Clearance is required.</p><br><br><br><p><b>Qualifications We Prefer:</b></p><br><br><p>A minimum of 6 to 8 years hands on knowledge and experience operating, maintaining and sustaining PAT 243, and PAT 244 test stations or equivalent test stations. Participate in preventive maintenance operations at all maintenance levels. Performs troubleshooting, fault isolation and field maintenance repair for all frequency convertors for all systems. Functionally tests power frequency convertors after making repairs to assure compliance with design specifications and standards. Participates in the opening and closing of work orders and in on-the-job training (OJT). Implements approved engineering changes. Enforces approved KADF safety policies, procedures, and standards. Org. Setting and Reporting<br>The UN Secretary-General launched on 1 January 2019 a bold and new global reform which repositioned the UN Development System to deliver more effectively and efficiently with the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. As part of this reform, UN Resident Coordinator Offices (UN RCO), under the leadership of an empowered and independent UN Resident Coordinator - the highest-ranking official of the UN Development System and Representative of the UN Secretary-General at country level - support countries in the achievement of their development priorities and the attainment of the SDG's. In its Resolution A/RES/72/279, the United Nations General Assembly endorsed the transformation of the Development Operations Coordination Office (DCO) as a stand-alone coordination office within the United Nations Secretariat. DCO exercises managerial and oversight functions of the resident coordinator system under the oversight of the Chair of United Nations Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG). In 2026, DCO undertook a recalibration to ensure the RC system remains optimally configured to support the acceleration of the 2030 Agenda and embodies the UN 2.0 shift- anchored in data, digital, innovation, behavioral science, strategic foresight, and a mission driven organizational culture. Noting that strategic partnership entails nonmonetary partnership and can be used to strengthen joint initiatives/advocacy with external partners towards a common goal, including that of advancing SDGs, the Partnerships Officer provides advice and support to the Resident Coordinator and the UNCT strategic partnerships for SDG achievement. The position is located in the United Nations Resident Coordination Office (RCO) in Kuwait City, Kuwait under the direct supervision of the Head of the Resident Coordinator Office.<br> Responsibilities<br>Within delegated authority, the Partnerships Officer will be responsible of the following duties: 1. ASSISTS WITH THE PROVISION OF SUBSTANTIVE SUPPORT FOR STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR AND COORDINATIN OF UNCT STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH CIVIL SOCIETY, THE PRIVATE SECTOR AND OTHER SDG ACHIEVEMENT: • Provides advice on the development and implementation of the UN Partnership Strategy in alignment with and support of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework; • Supports a UNCT working group or similar platform for the effective implementation, monitoring and assessment of the strategy at regular intervals to harness new emerging opportunities, to anticipate changes to the internal direction and external environment, and to make mid-term adjustments; • Conducts liaison and coordination with UN entities at country, regional and HQ levels, to help package and define a value proposition for local UN partnerships that can engage a wide range of stakeholders, including the private sector, civil society and other non-traditional partners; • Serves as one of the key entry points for external stakeholders seeking guidance and support in navigating opportunities to partner with the UNCT; • Builds strong interface with critical Development partners, Government, private sector, civil society and other non-traditional partners; • Provides substantive support to the Resident Coordinator (RC) and the UNCT in identifying risks and opportunities related to specific partnerships, and suggests mitigation measures as relevant; • Provides inputs on due diligence processes of potential investment and partnership opportunities, in accordance with UN regulations and procedures; • Provides substantive support to RC/UNCT to develop and implement locally tailored partnerships; • Serves as liaison to Global Compact Local Networks (in countries where such Networks are established), assisting the Resident Coordinator in advising the Local Network Board and strengthening local UN engagement with the private sector; in countries without an established Local Network, working with UN Global Compact regional hubs to promote the UN Global Compact Ten Principles and business support for the SDGs. 2. PARTICIPATES IN JOINT PARTNERSHIP AND RESOURCE MOBILIZATION INITIATIVES AND SUPPORTS MANAGEMENT OF POOLED FUND FOR THE UN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION FRAMEWORK: • Provides substantive support to RC/UNCT to develop and implement locally tailored resource mobilization strategies and initiatives for Cooperation Framework priorities, and identify appropriate data and benchmarks to measure progress and success; • Monitors and analyzes existing resource mobilization partnerships and relationships, including traditional and non-traditional partners and development partners, donors (including high net-worth individuals, private sector, innovative funds) to be explored for direct funding to the UN; • Supports the UNCT with analysis of funding streams from internal and external sources, enabling their timely and coordinated engagement around preparation of proposals; • Supports the UNCT in preparation of the Funding Framework of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework; • Provides support to the design joint programmes for use in joint resource mobilization and coordination during the implementation of joint programmes as needed; • Advises RC/UNCT and external partners on offers from specialized UN entities for the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and ensuring the development of a youth partnership strategy to support the SG priorities on youths, disability inclusion, gender and other thematic issues; • Advises the RC/UNCT on corporate policies relating to effective management of resources, including through the establishment and use of pooled funds; • Assists in the establishment and management of the country-based SDG Fund, in close collaboration with UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office (where relevant). 3. WORKS CLOSELY WITH THE RESIDENT COORDINATOR OFFICE ECONOMIST AND OTHER UN COUNTRY TEAM FINANCE EXPERTS TO PROMOTE PARTNERSHIPS TO SUPPORT FINANCING FOR ACCELERATING THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs): • Provides advice on partnership opportunities to drive financing for development options, instruments, modalities to the RC/UNCT, in alignment with the Common Country Analysis (CCA), Cooperation Framework, Integrated National Financing Framework and similar processes; • Prepares briefing papers and discussion points on partnership issues related to financing for development for consideration by RC/UNCT; • Contributes to advocacy, communications and dialogues with partners to improve development assistance policies and practice; • Working in close collaboration with the RCO Economist, ensures effective engagement of relevant counterparts, especially private sector, civil society and development partners, to develop engagement and partnerships around SDG financing; • Undertakes the design and execution of innovative proposals to strengthen the UNCT engagement and reputation, and to generate greater financial resources in support of the SDGs. 4.
