<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p><strong >Who You Are:</strong></p> <p>Versar, Inc. will provide technical services including inspections, assessments, repairs, reports and training for facilities throughout the US Army s Central Command Area of Responsibility (CENTCOM AOR) primarily including Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, and Bahrain. Services include electrical inspection and repairs of LIFE / HEALTH / SAFETY (LHS) deficiencies, fire prevention assessment and training, storage management of Government Property / Contractor Acquired Property (GP/CAP), construction and operations related inspections and assessments. The work will take place at existing US Military and coalition occupied facilities within the CENTCOM AOR. </p> <p> <strong>What You ll Do:</strong> </p> <p>As a Journeyman Electrician supporting Task Force SAFE, the candidate shall provide electrical inspection, repair, installation, maintenance, and construction expertise. The candidate shall perform electrical system assessments on facilities throughout the CENTCOM AOR including several thousand hardstand buildings and several thousand semi-permanent and temporary facilities and hundreds of facilities under construction.</p> <p>The candidate will identify electrical installations that do not comply with required codes and could contribute to deaths, injuries, fires and/or other electrical hazards. Although not limited in scope, the focus of the investigations shall be on ground fault circuit protection, building ground systems, and equipment bonding deficiencies. Re-inspection of corrected deficiencies may be required. Minor disassembly/reassembly of electrical components will be required (e.g. electrical panel board covers, switchboard front and rear covers, ground connections, etc.), and in selected instances where there are life threatening situations, the candidate will be required to assist with immediate repairs.</p> <p>Electrical inspection and repair services shall encompass: </p> <ul> <li>Inspect all work and living area facilities that are currently in use throughout CENTCOM AOR for electrical life, health and safety violations in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), and for British Standard 7671 whichever is appropriate. </li> <li>Re-inspect all facilities that have previously failed initial inspections. </li> <li>Record and report all inspections and repairs to Versar s TF SAFE Program Office using established report formats </li> <li>Provide repairs of imminent Life, Health and Safety deficiencies for electrical services throughout CENTCOM AOR </li> <li>Provide all required electrical repairs for both primary and secondary electrical distribution </li> <li>Record and report on all repairs to the TF SAFE Program Office </li> </ul> <p>The candidate will be part of a two-member team comprised of one master electrician and one journeyman electrician, or a team comprised of two master electricians. The master electrician will serve as the team leader responsible for all team activities. </p> <p> <strong>What You ll Bring:</strong> </p> <ul> <li>The candidate must have at least 2 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician. </li> <li>The candidate must have exceptional knowledge of the National Electrical Code (specifically bonding and grounding) and its application in construction. </li> <li>Candidate must be familiar with the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-520-01, 2010, Interior Electrical Systems, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70-2008, National Electrical Code (NEC) for 60 Hz systems, and British Standard 7671, 17th edition (BS7671, 17th Ed) for 50 Hz systems. </li> <li>Candidate must have basic computer skills in common business software including email, spreadsheets and documents (MS-Outlook, MS-Excel and MS-Word or equivalent). </li> <li>International experience and CENTCOM AOR specific experience are preferred. </li> <li>Must be eligible for a US Secret Security Clearance </li> <li>Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.</li> <li>Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.</li> <li>Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.</li> <li>Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate s start date.</li> </ul> <p> <strong>Certifications:</strong> </p> <p>The candidate must hold a valid Journeyman electrician's state license in the US. The Journeyman Electrician license must be from a state or municipality that requires a test as part of the licensing process. </p> <p> <strong>Additional Information: </strong> </p> <ul> <li>The candidate must have the ability to work under austere conditions in the CENTCOM AOR.</li> <li>Must pass a medical screening physical. </li> <li>Lodging location is anywhere in the CENTCOM AOR within US Government provided billeting or commercial apartments provided by Versar. </li> <li>The candidate must pass a background check and be cleared by the US government before deployment. </li> <li>The candidate must possess a valid US Passport with a minimum of 18 months before expiration. </li> <li>The work locations are in remote areas of CENTCOM, and the quality-of-life support is moderate. </li> <li>Candidates should expect to work six days a week, 12 hours a day. </li> <li>All meals, life support, transportation, and security will be provided by the US Government or by Versar. </li> <li>The candidate must commit to a one-year employment term in CENTCOM AOR. Perform assigned maintenance to specified KC-130J standards, to include performing operational testing procedures and required functional tests in support of the KC-130J maintenance manual series. Performance abilities will include the application of troubleshooting, maintenance, and servicing procedures to include the inspection and repair of aircraft wiring/wiring connector, breaker assemblies, component removal, inspection, and reinstallation. In the course of assigned duties will apply a thorough knowledge of electrical, avionics, and COM/NAV engineering principles, techniques, and methods necessary to repair and maintain aircraft, applicable equipment, and systems. Possess competent abilities in the use and application of hand tools, power tools, and associated precision measuring equipment used in support of system testing, evaluation, and operation. Possess the ability to read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, diagrams, schematics, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.</p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Major Job Activities</strong> </p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Description:</strong> </p> <ul> <li>Applies and has a thorough working knowledge of COM/NAV and avionics systems to include; aircraft modification procedures and experience with specific avionics systems, e.g., data bus, antennas, software, displays, communications/navigation equipment, systems integration, system/component failure analysis, inspection, repair, and testing of COM/NAV and electrical systems through engineering principles, techniques, and methods in the maintainability of existing KC-130J equipment and systems.</li> <li>Troubleshoots and/or repairs malfunctions in the aircraft avionics/communication/navigation systems and all other supporting aircraft systems that require avionics skills and knowledge, performing assigned maintenance in compliance with established directives and specified KC-130J maintenance requirement cards (MRC)s and maintenance instruction manuals (MIM)s, to include performing calibration procedures and required functional tests. <br> </li> <li>Performance abilities include maintenance and serviceability procedures to supported components, to include wiring and wiring connector condition, breaker assemblies, component removal, inspection, reinstallation, and incorporates applicable technical directives and bulletins.</li> <li>Possess competent abilities in the use and application of hand tools, power tools, and associated precision measuring equipment used in support of system testing, evaluation, and operation, to include complying with established local tool control programs.</li> <li>Has a strong understanding and ability to interpret maintenance instruction manuals (MIMS) and all associated maintenance publications, orders, and directives and the processes to document such maintenance actions</li> <li>Read, interpret, and apply manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, diagrams, schematics, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components</li> <li>Use illustrated parts breakdowns (IPB)s to determine material requirements, research associated part numbers, and order parts to complete maintenance actions.</li> <li>Has the ability to review, interpret, and apply the assigned maintenance manual procedures in support of assigned maintenance actions. Apply practical knowledge of wiring schematics of aircraft COM/NAV and avionics systems and the interpretation of technical data contained within those schematics and/or sources of maintenance data</li> <li>Performs periodic special, hourly, conditional, and phase maintenance/isochronal inspections as required by Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIM)s, Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC)s, manufacturer s specifications, and all applicable directives, orders, and instructions as directed through Maintenance Control.</li> <li>Removes, troubleshoots, inspects, reinstalls, and/or replaces aircraft COM/NAV and avionics components, radios, antennas, electrical wiring, and all other associated electronic components that support the operation and use of the aircraft systems/capabilities as directed by approved maintenance manuals/procedures and/or Maintenance Control</li><li> </li> </ul> <br> <strong>Qualifications</strong> <br> <br> <p> <strong>Education / Certifications:</strong> </p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma</li> <li>Must be able to obtain/maintain the following required certifications/qualifications:<br>- Aviation Gas Free Engineering (AVGFE) certification<br>- Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) run qualification<br>- I Level Battery Maintenance certification<br>- Applicable Support Equipment licensing<br>- Electric Shop & Comm Nav (210 & 220) Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) qualification<br>- Electric Shop & Comm Nav (210 & 220) Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) qualification<br>- Corrosion Prevention and Control qualification<br>- Confined Space Entry certification</li> </ul> <p><br></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p></div></section>
