<p>Job Purpose The Data Center Mechanical Engineer owns the mechanical and cooling infrastructure of the data center at engineering level, from the central cooling plant through to the data hall cooling environment. The role is responsible for mechanical maintenance strategy, system reliability, operational procedures, environmental performance, vendor management, safety compliance, spare-parts planning, and emergency response. The Mechanical Engineer directs the Mechanical Manning Technicians, authorizes equipment changeovers and critical maintenance activities, approves mechanical procedures, and acts as the mechanical technical authority during incidents and operational escalations.</p><p>Key Responsibilities and Areas of Ownership</p><ul><li>Take engineering ownership of the data center mechanical and cooling infrastructure, including chillers, cooling towers, chilled-water pumps, condenser-water pumps, heat exchangers, CRAH units, CRAC units, AHUs, ventilation systems, fans, filters, coils, valves, actuators, piping systems, and associated controls.</li><li>Manage the operation, reliability, and performance of chilled-water and precision-cooling systems serving the data halls and supporting areas.</li><li>Own mechanical equipment operating procedures, changeover procedures, start-up and shutdown sequences, and equipment rotation plans.</li><li>Authorize, lead, and supervise critical mechanical activities, including chiller changeovers, pump changeovers, cooling-tower changeovers, isolation activities, system draining, system filling, and restoration of equipment to service.</li><li>Monitor and maintain data hall environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, airflow, differential pressure, cooling capacity, and equipment loading.</li><li>Review chilled-water supply and return temperatures, water flow, system pressure, differential pressure, valve positions, and system delta-T to identify performance issues and operational risks.</li><li>Manage cooling redundancy and capacity to ensure sufficient cooling remains available during maintenance, equipment failure, testing, or abnormal operating conditions.</li><li>Own the mechanical safety program, including Lockout/Tagout, Permit to Work, risk assessments, safe isolation, refrigerant safety, chemical-handling controls, and compliance with HSE requirements.</li><li>Develop and manage the annual mechanical Planned Preventive Maintenance program in accordance with OEM recommendations, equipment criticality, maintenance history, and operational requirements.</li><li>Prepare, review, approve, and maintain mechanical Standard Operating Procedures, Methods of Procedure, Emergency Operating Procedures, maintenance instructions, risk assessments, and equipment changeover procedures.</li><li>Ensure that all mechanical maintenance activities are planned around available cooling redundancy and executed without compromising data center availability.</li><li>Own vendor coordination for mechanical maintenance activities and supervise OEM major services, equipment overhauls, repairs, inspections, and specialist testing.</li><li>Review vendor method statements, risk assessments, service reports, test results, recommendations, and corrective-action requirements.</li><li>Manage critical spare-parts and inventory planning for chillers, pumps, cooling towers, CRAH and CRAC units, valves, actuators, sensors, filters, belts, bearings, motors, VFDs, and other mechanical systems.</li><li>Analyze cooling-system performance, equipment efficiency, energy consumption, operating trends, alarm history, temperature profiles, water-flow conditions, and equipment loading.</li><li>Identify and implement opportunities to improve cooling efficiency, airflow management, chilled-water performance, equipment sequencing, and overall energy performance without reducing system resilience.</li><li>Investigate mechanical faults, high-temperature conditions, leaks, abnormal vibration, low-flow conditions, low delta-T, equipment trips, control failures, and recurring alarms.</li><li>Lead root cause analysis for mechanical incidents and equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.</li><li>Direct, develop, and train Mechanical Manning Technicians in operational procedures, inspections, first-line maintenance, alarm response, safe isolation, and incident escalation.</li><li>Review technician shift logs, inspection checklists, operating readings, alarm reports, and job-card closure records.</li><li>Support testing and commissioning activities, integrated systems testing, functional performance testing, equipment acceptance, redundancy verification, and operational-readiness activities.</li><li>Support predictive and condition-based maintenance programs, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, refrigerant checks, water and coolant sampling, thermal inspections, leak detection, and equipment-performance trending.</li><li>Manage liquid-cooling systems, Cooling Distribution Units, coolant loops, leak-detection systems, valves, pumps, and associated controls where installed.</li><li>Coordinate water-treatment activities, water-quality monitoring, chemical dosing, sampling, and corrective actions for chilled-water, condenser-water, and liquid-cooling systems where applicable.</li><li>Support WTP, STP, plumbing, drainage, and mechanical fire-protection systems where included within the data center operational scope.</li><li>Coordinate with electrical, BMS, IT, operations, HSE, vendors, and management teams during planned maintenance, incidents, testing, and emergency situations.</li><li>Maintain accurate mechanical documentation, asset records, maintenance reports, operating procedures, equipment histories, incident reports, testing records, and technical drawings.</li><li>Act as the mechanical technical authority during cooling incidents and operational escalations on a 24/7 on-call basis.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>Engineer Level</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of mechanical, HVAC, cooling-plant, or critical-facility operations and maintenance experience.</li><li>At least 2 years of experience in a data center or another critical facility where loss of cooling could affect essential operations.</li><li>Demonstrated engineering-level experience with chilled-water systems, precision cooling, or critical HVAC systems.</li><li>Practical knowledge of chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAH units, CRAC units, AHUs, valves, actuators, VFDs, and mechanical controls.</li><li>Experience in managing cooling redundancy, equipment capacity, environmental conditions, and critical maintenance activities in a live operational environment.</li><li>Demonstrated ownership of mechanical maintenance planning, technical procedure writing, incident response, vendor management, and spare-parts planning.</li><li>Experience preparing or approving SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, risk assessments, isolation plans, and maintenance procedures.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, equipment schematics, sequence-of-operation documents, control diagrams, and OEM technical manuals.</li><li>Working knowledge of BMS or BAS platforms, mechanical alarms, equipment trends, sensors, <section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p><b>Job Summary: </b>Superior authority at rig location for the operational safety, efficiency, drilling integrity and client relations, implementation and upholding of safety to prevent injuries, preserve life, protect equipment while maintaining compliance with environmental requirements. Provide onboard leadership and direction for department leaders, for meeting the client drilling program requirements while considering company procedures and allocated rig budget. Roles & Responsibilities: Rig Operations: Organize and supervise the activities of drilling, moving and maintenance departments of the drilling unit to effectively carry out management and command functions in compliance with company procedures. Communicates with the Rig Manager in reviewing and discussing the client s projected well program before operations commence and throughout the well as necessary to stay abreast of pertinent operational activities and time factors. Ensure well programs, schedules are well known to the drilling crew and adequate written instructions are given and that necessary rig procedures, including JSA and PTW are prepared on time and with good quality for the actual operations. Ensure that necessary Management of Change or Deviation is approved in Synergi prior to operation starts. Manage & review the execution of the drilling program in coordination with Client Representative and rig department heads through the daily operations plans (IADC logs). Make all decisions in conjunction with departments heads regarding utilization of equipment, making sure the rig and support equipment is properly maintained and fit for purpose. Ensure the availability of the optimum quantity of rig supplies, parts, materials, fuel, lubricants, potable water for the drilling program are onboard. Determines when to cease resume operations, as per company procedures in cooperation with the Rig Manager. Plan, approve, and supervise rig activities such as equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance program, repairs, daily maintenance of drilling fluids, etc. Ensure all activities are coordinated with minimal loss of time or effort. Overseeing that space-out drawings are correct and are posted in the drillers cabin. Overseeing that post-jarring sheet are filled out and understood by night Tool pusher and driller. Rig Move: Plan all related rigs move activities, equipment, supplies, personnel in compliance with the Rig move Procedures. Assesses the current and new location, considering factors such as safety, lifting equipment availability at location, preparation for rig-up operations, Supervise the Rig move team during rigging down and rigging up activities to ensure they are followed efficiently and safely. Management of Major Emergencies: Acts as the command team leader during emergency situations, through leading the Rig s emergency response teams as detailed on the Emergency Plan and Company Procedures. Ensure that all personnel are instructed in the procedures to be adopted in the case of an emergency. Ensure that Well Control and general safety drills are held and recorded in accordance with Company requirements. Ensure that housekeeping standards in all areas are in accordance with Company requirements. Client Management: Act as the primary client contact at location regarding all service provision related matters. Communicate regularly with the client representative at location and ensure that each party s priorities, plans, rig progress and operational problems are clearly communicated and understood to continually promote good relations with the client. Represents the Company professionally, upholding the confidentiality of the Company and client business both during and outside of work hours. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with other department heads, supervisors, operator's representatives, subcontractors, and all personnel on the rig. Reporting and Documentation: Maintains proper logs and records, promptly submitting required reports as per company protocols and regulatory standards. Prepare accurate and timely reports, including daily drilling reports, equipment status reports, and incident reports to document drilling activities and operational performance. Review all operational/technical bulletins, communicate pertinent points to crew members and implement all directives as required. Assist management in initiating, monitoring, and recording all maintenance and repairs work in collaboration with maintenance department. People Management & Development: Establishes and maintains good working relationships with the crew, clients, and third-party personnel, promoting effective collaboration between departments. Responsibilities include – but not limited to - monitoring UF/RO system & plant utilities, O&M procedures and activities, evaluating treatment process/plant conditions, report operation conditions and findings, and making process control decisions in coordination with process leader. Control room operator shall work closely and coordinate with process leader, Operation manager and other maintenance discipline supervisors to ensure smooth and effective operation of reclamation plant and to sustain overall plant performance.</p><br><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><br><p>The Control Room Operator shall perform the following and any other tasks as per work requirements:</p><br><ul><li>The position will be functionally reporting to Field Service Lead and one over one to Operation manager.</li><li>Reviews process control operation through inspection of system and plant records, technical data, operating reports and historical trends.</li><li>Investigates, diagnoses, report, and recommends correction of abnormalities occurring in any part of the</li><li>UF/RO plant system or Process or plant utilities to ensure safe operation of the plant as per the stated procedures.</li><li>Shares and escalate the operational observations pertaining to the UF/RO plant process or system control operation to ensure the economical functioning of plant facilities, coordinating operational strategies with Field Service Lead or Manager.</li><li>Responsible for reporting shift operational activities to Field Service Lead and operation manager.</li><li>Responsible for creating safe working area by isolating the equipment/system from potential hazardous source and to authorize work executor to start the work by applying LOTO devices, the execution of the work shall be followed until the completion of the job.</li><li>Responsible for measuring individual UF skid turbidity and RO individual vessel conductivity and maintains records for future reference and control.</li><li>Regular updates to Field Service Lead and Manager and make routine plants walk round to notice any plant anomalies before in time.
