<p>Overview ***This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of WEXMAC*** Working across the globe, V2X builds smart solutions designed to integrate physical and digital infrastructure from base to battlefield. The purpose of this job is to perform specialized duty work functions in preparing for and responding to fire/medical emergency calls and providing support for the Advance life support EMT requiring emergency medical care and safely transporting them to the hospital or medical clinic. Duties and responsibilities include maintaining readiness for emergency call response; responding to fire, medical, and related emergency calls when dispatched and taking proper action; educating staff and public on fire safety/prevention; and performing Fire Department activities. Additionally, this position may involve staffing the Fire Alarm Communications Center (FACC) and receiving calls for emergency assistance, monitoring fire alarm systems and emergency reporting phones. and dispatching appropriate apparatus and personnel to emergencies. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. + Responds to emergency calls, provides Support to Paramedic in accordance with EMS protocols, and assists other members of the department. + Provide Support to the Paramedic for immediate care to the critically ill and injured and transports the patient to the designated ambulance transfer + Provide pre ‐ hospital emergency medical care of simple and multiple system + Maintains vehicles and equipment in a serviceable and ready condition. + Participates in continuing medical education (CME) and training activities, both as an instructor and as a student, depending on the nature and purpose of the course. + Communicates effectively in writing, verbally and over the radio or telephone. + Performs various other tasks as assigned by the Fire Chief or designee. + Complies with all applicable rules, regulations/standard operating procedures, as directed By the Fire Chief, Program Manager and Base Commander. + Performs other duties and assignments as needed. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education/Certifications : Two years’ related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. + + High school diploma or equivalent is required. + An associate’s degree is preferred. + Must be eligible and/or able to obtain and maintain Installation Access + Able to obtain a host nation driver’s license + Required to have IFSAC or Pro-Board Certification to these levels: + National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or State EMT + Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS/AED + Firefighter I + Firefighter II + Hazardous Materials Operations + Airport Firefighter + Driver/Operator Pumper + Driver/Operator Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting + Driver/Operator Mobile Water Supply + Telecommunicator I/II Skills: + + Must read, write, and speak English fluently. + Excellent communicative skills, both written & verbal. Experience : + + Must have a minimum of Two years of experience working on an emergency response ambulance. + Must be in good standing with their certifying organization, and they must maintain these certifications for the duration of their employment. + Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in emergency health care setting. + Must have a minimum of two years of experience working on an emergency response ambulance. + Safely operate and drive fire department vehicles, including engines, ladder trucks, and other specialized apparatus, to emergency incidents in compliance with all traffic laws and department policies. + Position apparatus at emergency scenes strategically to maximize its effectiveness for fire suppression, rescue operations, and water supply, considering factors like structural stability, collapse zones, and overhead hazards. + Operate fire pumps to supply water at the correct pressure and volume to attack lines, ensuring a continuous and reliable water supply for interior and exterior firefighting crews. + Execute complex hydraulic calculations to account for friction loss, elevation, and appliance requirements, adjusting pump pressures accordingly to meet the demands of the incident. + Deploy and operate aerial devices, such as ladders and platforms, for rescue, elevated water streams, ventilation, and overhaul operations, ensuring the stability and safety of the device at all times. + Establish a secure and uninterrupted water supply by connecting to fire hydrants, drafting from static sources (lakes, pools, rivers), or coordinating water shuttle/tanker operations. + Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and operational readiness checks on assigned apparatus, including engine systems, pumps, aerial devices, fluid levels, and onboard equipment. + Excellent communicative skills, both written & verbal. + Extensive Fire Fighting and Emergency Service Experience. (5 Years) + Possess knowledge of safety and environmental issues. + Be familiar with various Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Working Conditions : + + Must be capable of working in various weather conditions (i.e. humidity, rain/wet season, warm/hot, sunny). + The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases, or poor ventilation. Physical Requirements : + + Driver Operator/Firefighter must have the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 45 lbs. and be able to collectively lift, carry, and balance patients who weigh in excess of 100 lbs. In addition, must have the ability to pull and reach with both hands; crawl, kneel, bend and climb; work outdoors in excessive heat or cold, high humidity or dry atmospheric conditions. + Firefighter/EMT will be exposed to lifting, pulling and numerous strenuous activities that paramedics face during medical response calls. Furthermore, the climate in which strenuous work activities will be required is extremely hot/humid or cold during certain parts of the year/time of day.
