<p>1. JOB DETAILS</p><br><p>Direct Report Project HSE Manager</p><br><p>Operational Scope Civil Works | Drilling & Completions | Work Over | Facilities | Production</p><br><p>Supervises Mechanical Lifting contractors; Drilling Rig Lifting Crews; any Contractor performing Mechanical Lifting activities under SLB operational control; site level DROPS auditors and HSE Specialists in their execution of the DROPS Program</p><br><p>2. ROLE PURPOSE</p><br><p>The Mechanical Lifting & DROPS Subject Matter Expert Lead is the SLB Mutriba Project authority for the safe design, planning, execution, and continuous improvement of Mechanical Lifting and Dropped Objects Prevention (DROPS) activities across the Mutriba Field Development Project. The role combines planning and operational SME oversight of lifting operations with assurance of the Project's DROPS system implementation, ensuring full compliance with SLB standards, client requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks across all project phases and contractor interfaces.</p><br><p>3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p><br><p>Mechanical Lifting SME</p><br><p>→ Lead the planning, preparation, implementation, monitoring, and review of Mechanical Lifting Plans (MLPs) for all project phases, including all prevention and mitigation measures.</p><br><p>→ Review and validate all critical lifting plans prepared by SLB and Contractors, categorize lifts in accordance with the Lift Categorization Questionnaire, and submit Critical and Non-Routine lifts to the right channels.</p><br><p>→ Personally supervise the execution of Non-Routine, Critical, and Complex lifts across all project locations, such as Rig Mobilization, Initial Rig Moves, Skidding operations and de-mobilization.</p><br><p>→ Ensure all lifting risk assessments (HARC/JSA) are prepared, reviewed, and adequate prior to the commencement of any lifting operation.</p><br><p>→ Assess Pre-Job Safety Meetings (PJSMs) related to mechanical lifting operations and verify that controls identified in the MLP and HARC are communicated and understood by all participants.</p><br><p>→ Advise and stop lifting operations during adverse weather conditions (lightning, high-wind events) and verifysuspension and resumption criteria are clearly defined and enforced at site level.</p><br><p>→ Establish, maintain, and audit all Project Lifting Equipment Registers across all rig sites and call-out services, ensuring all lifting appliances and accessories are inspected, certified, color-coded, and fit for purpose.</p><br><p>→ Verify that third-party lifting equipment introduced to SLB managed sites holds valid certification from an LEEAaccredited or equivalent body, aligned with applicable standards.</p><br><p>→ Ensure adequate storage and in-service maintenance of all lifting gear and accessories in accordance with</p><br><p>Project and client's requirements.</p><br><p>→ Drive compliance with SLB's Mechanical Lifting Standard (SLB-HSE-S013) and Mechanical Lifting B.O.O.K. (SLB-HSE-M013) across all contractor interfaces.</p><br><p>→ Conduct frequent, structured audits of all ML activities and equipment at rig sites and call-out service locations, documenting findings and tracking corrective actions closure.</p><br><p>→ Perform ML related assessments for the Annual Audit and Inspection Plan (AAIP) to verify ongoing compliance with SLB standards, client procedures, and regulatory requirements.</p><br><p>→ Report all lifting-related events in QUEST (SLB incident management system) in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of classification, causal analysis, and corrective/preventive action assignment.</p><br><p>→ Lead or actively participate in investigations of any incident, near miss, or high-potential event related to mechanical lifting operations.</p><br><p>→ Coach, assess, and verify the competence of personnel involved in ML operations such as Lifting Supervisors, Crane Operators, Banksmen, and Riggers, against defined competency frameworks.</p><br><p>→ Maintain competency assessment records and ensure training validity periods are tracked and renewed.</p><br><p>→ Deliver or coordinate delivery of ML awareness and technical training as required by project needs.</p><br><p>→ Serve as primary interface with customer's Lifting Authority for ML plans, approvals, and regulatory compliance.</p><br><p>DROPS Authority</p><br><p>→ Project-level DROPS Program Assurance Lead for integrity, consistency, and effectiveness of the DROPS prevention program across all Mutriba Project locations.</p><br><p>→ Review, evaluate, and formally validate DROPS Inspection Reports submitted by rig sites and service locations, verifying accuracy on findings, classification, and effectiveness and closure of corrective actions.</p><br><p>→ Validate the correct implementation of DROPS, including DROPS Zone identification, zoning maps, barrier deployment, DROPS Picture Books, tethered tool program, and related.</p><br><p>→ Conduct structured DROPS Program audits across all active project phases and locations, assessing compliance with SLB-HSE-S023 (DROPS Standard) and the DROPS B.O.O.K. (SLB-HSE-M023).</p><br><p>→ Verify DROPS inspection checklists for rig-ups, and the maintenance of DROPS Inspection Schedules.</p><br><p>→ Support site-level HSE Supervisors in identifying dropped object and Work at Height hazards.</p><br><p>→ Ensure DROPS incidents are reported, classified, and investigated in accordance with project and SLBrequirements, and lessons-learned dissemination across the project.</p><br><p>→ Maintain and monitor DROPS program performance metrics; escalate systemic non-conformances.</p><br><p>Additional Responsibilities</p><br><p>→ Participate in Project HAZOP/HARC processes as the ML and DROPS SME for ML scenarios under review.</p><br><p>→ Support development and review of project HSE Plans, procedures, and standards related to ML and DROPS.</p><br><p>→ Contribute to pre-mobilization readiness reviews as the ML/DROPS technical authority.</p><br><p>→ Support emergency response planning for lifting-related scenarios (crane collapse, load drop, manriding rescue) and verify that adequate rescue plans are in place.</p><br><p>→ Assist developing the Annual Audit and Inspection Plan (AAIP) for ML and DROPS activities.</p><br><p>4. AUTHORITY</p><br><p>→ Authority to Stop Work on any mechanical lifting or related activity that does not comply with approved lift plans,SLB standards, or client requirements.</p><br><p>→ Authority to reject and require re-submission of non-compliant lift plan with SLB or client requirements.</p><br><p>→ Authority to require the removal of lifting equipment or accessory found defective, uncertified, or non-compliant.</p><br><p>→ Authority to withhold validation for any site or location non-compliant with DROPS system requirements.</p><br><p>→ Authority to escalate non-conformances to Contractor and Project Management<br></p><br><p><strong> Education</strong>: Bachelor's degree in engineering or Technical Career</p><br><p><strong>Professional Certification:</strong></p><br><p>* LEEA Appointed Person for Lifting Operations or similar.</p><br><p>* Third-party certification credited by LEEA or NSL.</p><br><p>* DROPS Level 3 - Focal Point.</p><br><p><strong>Experience</strong>:</p><br><p>* Minimum 10 years of experience in a dedicated Mechanical Lifting supervisory or SME capacity, preferably onthe Oil & Gas Industry.</p><br><p>* Demonstrated experience operating in multi-contractor onshore drilling environments, including direct supervisionof crane, rigging, and lifting appliance crews.</p><br><p>* Prior experience conducting DROPS program audits and managing DROPS systems at rig or field level</p><br><p><strong>Language</strong>: Fluent English mandatory. <p><br></p><p><strong>Roles & Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Troubleshooting and Repairs:</strong> Diagnosing mechanical problems, faults and malfunctions in mechanical equipment and systems, using diagnostic tools, equipment manuals, and technical documentation to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions to restore functionality and minimize downtime. Communicate equipment problems or break down information via Senior Tool Pusher to technical maintenance support team.</p><p><strong>Equipment Maintenance & Operations:</strong> Maintaining the reliability and integrity of rig mechanical equipment and systems, including drilling, mechanical, and safety systems. Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of mechanical equipment at location, including but not limited to engines, generators, pumps, compressors, cranes, and hydraulic systems, to ensure optimal performance of the rig. Survey the condition of all well control equipment in use each shift, report any system issues to the Senior tool pusher and raise corrective work order to manage the repair. Will inform by e mail both the Senior tool pusher and office based well control equipment superintendent of the equipment status so Contractual and API compliance can be assessed. Ensure that repairs, needed or made, are registered in the form of a work order in the company maintenance system. Carry out Planned maintenance work orders on time with good quality and record actual work done, inform Senior Tool pusher where access to perform work is not granted. Ensure Mechanical and Drill crew reference OEM manuals when carrying out PM or CM work on any rig equipment do not reply solely on the PM work instruction. Supervise the oil sample program and review the results, ensure work orders are raised to rectify bad samples. Spot check lubrication carried out by drilling crew for quality. Maintain and repair power plants and monitor power distribution ensure power is always available. Verification and inspection of third-party equipment and installations when required. Ensure new equipment installations on the drilling unit are managed by management of change Synergi case where appropriate as outlined in the ADES management system by highlighting the potential need to Senior Tool Pusher. </p><p><strong>Materials & Equipment:</strong> Plan and coordinate with the Senior Tool Pusher and other departments to secure equipment s and perform safety inspections prior to any operations or major activity such as rig moves, running & retrieving BOP. Ensuring that the appropriate mechanical requirements of the statutory and regulatory bodies including the classification society are adhered to and records maintained. Maintain inventory of spare parts, consumables, and supplies for mechanical equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained to support ongoing operations and maintenance activities. Coordinating with procurement and logistics teams to procure spare parts and replacement components as needed, ensuring timely delivery, availability & compliance with the class & certification requirements. Responsible for housekeeping standards in machinery and workshop areas. Machine and switchboard areas to be kept clear of all flammable materials.</p><p><strong>Rig Move:</strong> Ensure that all mechanical equipment s are properly secured and protected for transportation, while overseeing the disassembly and loading of equipment s onto transport vehicles. Supervise the rig move crew to reassemble and install all mechanical equipment s at the new location and perform the final checks on the system to ensure they are ready for drilling operations.</p><p><strong>Client Management:</strong> Promote and maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, third party personnel and Client Representatives. Responds to client requests and needs concerning materials, equipment, and personnel after getting adequate management approval.</p><p><strong>Reporting and Documentation:</strong> Maintains proper logs and records of all mechanical maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repairs in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the quality of the Planned maintenance system work reports for PM and CM work orders for Mechanical department Prepare accurate and timely reports, including daily equipment status reports, incident reports, job safety analysis for hazardous activities. Ensure the permit to work and isolation systems are followed and applied. Supply information to assist in the development of maintenance and repair budget.</p><p><strong>People Management:</strong> Provide clear instructions to their team regarding their duties, responsibilities, and any necessary safety precautions prior to commencing work.
