Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Make entries in aircraft logs and records, and responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. Plan, conduct, and supervise aircraft technical inspections. Compute basic weight and balance records. Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required. Ensure compliance with aircraft configuration control, Army oil analysis Program and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration. Provide lower level technicians guidance in aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards and operational policies. <p>The Non-Destruction Inspection Technician (NDI) II inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis. Determine test method and prepare fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection. Interpret nondestructive inspection test results and provide information about defects to repair center. Analyze wear metal content reports on engine lubricating oil and other fluids and recommend corrective action. Establish radiation areas for radiographic operations. Compute and monitor personal exposure areas for radiographic operations, and monitor personnel exposure data. Perform nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems. Detect flaws such as cracks, delamination s, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrate testing, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment. Determine metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors. Operate, maintain, and inspect nondestructive equipment. Perform operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools. Ensure lock out and tag out procedures are accomplished prior to maintenance on equipment. Perform silver recovery functions. Handle and dispose of hazardous waste and materials. <p><h4>Job Description</h4>

<p>The Army Aviation GSE - Ground Support Equipment Mechanic diagnoses malfunctions and repairs ground support equipment.</p>
<p>Three (3) years of aviation GSE experience in the last six (6) years. Actual and recent aviation-related experience in the repair, modification, maintenance, and overhaul of related equipment being serviced and their associated components (APUs, etc).</p>
<p>Inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications.</p>
