Conducts research and studies new equipment to ensure that the latest developments in technique and equipment are included in metrology planning for future acquisition. Assists in the development and implementation of a Metrology QA Program as required. Assists in obtaining and maintaining laboratory QA accreditation.</p> <p>Assesses requirements and develops new measurement techniques and approaches related to mechanical, electro-mechanical, optical, electro-optical, chemical, and electro-chemical calibration methodology. Also performs analysis and evaluation of equipment test and performance requirements, and prescribes calibration approaches, test equipment, and servicing requirements necessary to assure measurement traceability. The contract serves to support KOC to achieve its objectives of reaching optimum capacity in its oilfields and enhancing its facilities by the most efficient and economical means available.</p> <p>The contract aims to provide project management, coordination, planning, design, engineering, construction management, contracting, procurement, project controls and other services for construction of new oil field facilities, upgrading of existing facilities, and transfer of technology.</p> <h4>Primary objectives</h4> <p>To ensure mechanical equipment design integrity whilst leading the mechanical equipment engineering group on specific projects.<br> To provide specialist rotating equipment input to conceptual studies, FEEDs and detailed design for oil and gas developments.</p> <h4>Responsibilities</h4> <ul> <li>Ensure that design is fully compliant with project specification and client, international and local standards.</li> <li>Preparation of specifications for, and evaluation of, rotating equipment packages.</li> <li>Perform engineering design as required.</li> <li>Duties will include conceptual design and specification of rotating and packaged equipment and review of EPC’s detailed designs, technical bid evaluation and vendor documentation.</li> <li>Allocate work to team members. Ensure that within assigned team, personnel work within their competencies and with appropriate supervision.</li> <li>Quality assurance – responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the quality assurance system.</li> <li>Safety – responsible for personal safety and safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.</li> <li>Ensure that conceptual and detail design work is appropriate for the complexity of the construction tasks and achieving a good balance between design costs and implementation costs.</li> <li>Evidence of feedback from supervisors and/or superintendents that constructability issues are addressed adequately in design and that work packs contain sufficient detail with no unnecessary content.</li> <li>Conduct site investigations, prepare reports.</li> </ul> <h4>Mandatory requirements</h4> <ul> <li>Engineering degree in a relevant discipline</li> <li>15 years of total post graduation experience</li> <li>10 years mechanical design experience in the oil and gas environment</li> <li>5 years in the stated designation</li> <li>A minimum of 3 years in automation software</li> </ul> <h4>Essential skills / experience</h4> <ul> <li>Hands on experience with large gas turbine driven compressors, pumps, generators packages is mandatory. The Quality Assurance Engineer works closely with engineering and portfolio managers to design and execute quality tests, report results for assigned software products. This person reviews the results of automatic tests with the Quality Assurance Automation Engineer during the software development cycle. Design, organize and execute test strategies, plans and suites in cooperation with the development team. Design and conduct nonfunctional tests including tests for system load and performance, security, scalability, usability and deployability. Review test plans to ensure completeness. Track testing progress. Analyze and prioritize technical problems. Identify and escalate project risks. Verify the correct fix of reported defects. Review results of automatic tests with the Quality Assurance Automation Engineer. Document, review and edit user documentation. Comply with the Software Lifecycle Management and Product Development process. Review software requirements documents. Provide input to improve product effectiveness, integration and usability. Utilize and promote the software development standards and testing and evaluation techniques defined by the Schlumberger software development organization, and contribute to their improvement. Document and report test results in a timely manner using established systems for reporting and defect tracking.
