<p>The KC-130J Avionics/COM/NAV Technician will troubleshoot and/or repair malfunctions in the aircraft avionics/communication/navigation systems and all other supporting aircraft systems that require avionics skills and knowledge. Perform assigned maintenance to specified KC-130J standards, to include performing operational testing procedures and required functional tests in support of the KC-130J maintenance manual series. <p>The Aircraft Mechanic III performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of complex to extreme difficulty. Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components. Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Make entries in aircraft logs and records, and responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. Plan, conduct, and supervise aircraft technical inspections. Compute basic weight and balance records. Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required. Ensure compliance with aircraft configuration control, Army oil analysis Program and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration. <p>The Aircraft Mechanic III performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of complex to extreme difficulty.</p><p>Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.</p><p>Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.</p><p>Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.</p><p>Make entries in aircraft logs and records, and responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.</p><p>Plan, conduct, and supervise aircraft technical inspections.</p><p>Compute basic weight and balance records.</p><p>Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.</p><p>Ensure compliance with aircraft configuration control, Army oil analysis Program and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration.</p><p>Provide lower level technicians guidance in aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards and operational policies.</p><p>Prepare evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance repair and related activities.</p><p>Perform other duties as requested.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>This role requires candidate to obtain Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check through UK Govt prior to deployment.</li><li>Completion of high school or equivalent required.</li><li>Five (5) or more year s aviation maintenance experience within the past ten (10) years on that mission design series (MDS).</li><li>Experience in maintenance, modification and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components.</li><li>Must be in possession of a Passport with 3 years of validity remaining at the time of hire and be able to travel internationally.</li><li>Able to clear CENTCOM Medical for deployment.</li></ul><h3>Knowledge &amp; Skills</h3><ul><li>Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.</li><li>Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.</li><li>Basic knowledge of electrical theory and a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.</li><li>Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.</li><li>Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and is required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.</li><li>Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.</li><li>Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by Mechanics.</li><li>The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.</li></ul><h3>Physical Requirements/Working Environment</h3><ul><li>Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.</li><li>Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.</li><li>Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.</li><li>May be required to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.</li><li>Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.</li><li>Will handle dirty parts and lubricants.</li><li>Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).</li><li>Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.</li><li>May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, etc.</li><li>Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds.</li><li>May work in maintenance shop or outside.</li><li>Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.</li><li>May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.</li><li>May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.</li></ul>

Operate computer hardware and software utilities and manual records in order to perform stock control and accounting procedures. Inspect bomb release systems and missile launchers to determine need for repair or destruction in support of Reaper Series RPA maintenance. Additionally, employee may conduct inspection, maintenance, and storage of munitions and support equipment. Support weapons loading and armament systems and related matters. Support quality assurance, compliance, continuity, and standardization of munitions programs. Attend weapons safety course, load certification and related activities. Provide technical inputs to managers in matters of weapons management, inventory, and maintenance, loading, and armament systems.
