<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> Title: Lead HSE Engineer Job Title Lead HSE Engineer Project KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Lead HSE Engineer to support HSE function on PMC Project with Kuwait Oil Company in Kuwait. Summary Section   The Lead HSE engineer will coordinate implementation of the KOC PMC Safety policies, HSE Management System and Project specific HSE Management Plans as they apply to the project. He will ensure that the site complies with the relevant HSE Legislation and KOC HSE requirements. He will develop and implement the project HSE MS. He will develop and maintain Statistical data for the Project and prepare reports as required for the KBR KOC PMC HSEQ Manager. Mandatory Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills: <ul><li>Bachelor Degree in Engineering</li><li>Minimum 12 years total post-graduation experience.</li><li>Minimum 8 years Oil & Gas post-graduation experience</li><li>Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Lead HSE Engineer role.</li><li>Practical experience of design, construction, commissioning and maintenance aspects of oil/gas installations.</li><li>Practical experience with HSE management systems, reporting and audit procedures. Excellent written coordination and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop, update and maintain in-house procedures. Must be conversant with local and international saftey standards and norms.</li><li>Must possess two or more HSE certifications (certified courses) in General Industrial Safety, Construction Safety, Environmental Management, industrial Hygiene, ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, ICertOSH, ASSE Certificate in Global Safety Management or equivalent courses.</li></ul> Responsibilities: - Monitor the EPC contractor HSE Management System and provide advice and assistance to EPC HSE managers so they comply in a consistent way to reduce the risk to the project employees and the environment. - Ensure the EPC contractors develop implement and maintain a specific project Risk Management Plan - Ensure EPC contractor subcontractor selection (ITB) processes are developed and implemented on a timely basis in accordance with KOC expectations. - Provide advice and guidance to the EPC contractor management team on HSE issues through the interpretation of KOC policies and statutory requirements. - Ensure EPC contractors establish and maintain statistical data concerning all matters of health and safety, training programs with which to provide a basis for development of further health and safety activities, to highlight trends for future action. - Monitor compliance with all Kuwait legislative requirements including the dissemination of information to PMC and EPC managers and employees regarding amendments/ additions to requirements as they come into effect. - Review EPC contractor Safety Management System and advise of required changes. - Develop and maintain professional relationships with KOC, regulatory bodies and EPC contractors to foster the professional image of KBR. - Visit the project site on a regular basis to ensure interest and awareness of HSE is maintained, conduct regular safety talks and safety training sessions relative to the nature of activities being undertaken Other key activities shall include but not be limited to the following: <ul><li>Pro-actively visit site and with the EPC contractor implement safety measures-promote/ensure safe work practices</li><li>Ensure quality safety observation program is implemented and maintained on each site/project and ensure follow up on findings</li><li>Assist EPC contractor construction management personnel in identifying hazards and in planning and organizing the work such that a safe working environment is maintained.</li><li>Assist EPC sub-contractor Safety advisors and site management in the development and revision of specific site safety programmes.</li><li>Maintain a HS&E audit and assessment program for the location.</li><li>Carry out regular inspections of the work areas with the respective EPC contractor line manager and or HSE representative and prepare reports.</li><li>Disseminate safety information throughout the workplace via bulletin boards, posters, newsletters etc.</li><li>Assist EPC contractor line management and or construction supervisors in accident investigation process and report accordingly.</li><li>Develop and implement safety initiatives to continually improve, achieve and maintain stated safety performance and objectives.</li><li>Ensure HSE safety inductions are undertaken in accordance with the EPC contractor SMS requirements for all new employees of the company and its subcontractors</li><li>Monitor the availability and use of safety apparel and equipment.</li><li>Provide advice to the EPC subcontractor supervision on the development of project specific procedures and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) training,</li><li>Advise subcontractor supervisory staff and employees in the implementation of strategies to identify and control potential hazards and in the use of the hierarchy of controls</li><li>Ensure all lines of communication on HSE-matters remain open and effective between all parties particularly KOC,KBR, EPC contractors and their sub-contractors.</li></ul> Decarbonization – Energy Transition – Sustainability Belong. Origination & solution delivery (partner-led) •    Identify client needs and originate opportunities, partnering with product specialists to deliver appropriate solutions (e.g., lending, cash management, trade, FX and other relevant HSBC capabilities). •    Collaborate effectively with Group colleagues across HSBC’s international network to connect clients to the right expertise and solutions. •    Keep abreast of HSBC offerings, competitor activity, and market developments relevant to MNC subsidiaries operating in Kuwait. Credit, risk & controls •    Manage credit risk proactively for the portfolio, including credit reviews, early warning identification, and timely escalation where required. •    Exercise credit delegation in line with applicable approval authorities, ensuring sound judgement, strong documentation, and adherence to underwriting standards. •    Lead customer due diligence activities and maintain a deep understanding of the client throughout the lifecycle, including ownership of CDD/KYC, trigger events, periodic reviews, and accurate record keeping. •    Confidently manage financial crime risk by identifying, assessing, monitoring, escalating, and mitigating risk in line with applicable standards. •    Ensure adherence to operational risk standards and policies; report any breaches promptly in accordance with local procedures. •    Ensure prompt escalation and sharing of relevant client information so the broader coverage team maintains a complete view of risks and opportunities. To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements: •    Proven banking experience as a Relationship Manager (or Associate RM) managing/supporting MNC subsidiaries in Kuwait. •    Strong credit and financial analysis capability, with a track record of progressing credit requests and managing a portfolio within risk appetite (including working with delegated authority as applicable). •    Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and economic trends impacting corporate banking in Kuwait. •    Strong organisational, analytical, negotiation, communication, teamwork and influencing skills. •    Demonstrated sales discipline and ability to grow revenue, increase wallet share, and deliver NTB results via a needs-based approach. •    Ability to identify opportunities across a broad product set and work effectively with product specialists to execute. •    Languages: Fluent English and Arabic (written and spoken). •    Bachelor’s degree is a must  You’ll achieve more at HSBC.
