Technicians utilize various diagnostic tools, such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes, to repair mechanical and electronic systems. They also handle fluids, conduct corrosion treatments, manage hazardous materials, and prepare CSE for deployment. The role includes operating and servicing support equipment and tow vehicles, while adhering to safety, Tool Control, and Foreign Object Damage prevention standards at all times. Responsibilities SUMMARY The Common Support Equipment Technician diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Common Support Equipment (CSE); inspects and approves completed maintenance actions; solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagram schematics, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals, technical publications and maintenance actions. The Technician uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, and document maintenance actions. The Technician also performs removal, disassembly, repair, cleaning, corrosion treatment, re-assembly and installation of malfunctioning CSE accessories and components. As well as stenciling and marking CSE, storing, handling, labeling, using and disposing of hazardous materials and hazardous waste. The Technician prepares CSE for preservation and mobility deployment. The Technician operates, cleans, inspects and services all assigned support equipment, to include towing vehicles such as Bobtail Ford trucks, Tow Tractors (Tug), and U-30 aircraft tow vehicle. In addition to performing inspections and maintenance, the technician practices good housekeeping, Tool Control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Performs diagnosis and corrective actions, disassembles, inspects, evaluates, and accomplishes necessary repairs according to publication/technical instructions and technical directives on all required support equipment. Apply practical knowledge of wiring schematics of aircraft COM/NAV and avionics systems and the interpretation of technical data contained within those schematics and/or sources of maintenance data Performs periodic special, hourly, conditional, and phase maintenance/isochronal inspections as required by Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIM)s, Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC)s, manufacturer s specifications, and all applicable directives, orders, and instructions as directed through Maintenance Control. Removes, troubleshoots, inspects, reinstalls, and/or replaces aircraft COM/NAV and avionics components, radios, antennas, electrical wiring, and all other associated electronic components that support the operation and use of the aircraft systems/capabilities as directed by approved maintenance manuals/procedures and/or Maintenance Control Interpret MIMs and all associated maintenance publications, orders, and directives to perform maintenance and use processes to document such maintenance actions, ensuring the accurate entry of data into the locally used computer database system. Performs applicable O and I level battery maintenance functions as required per applicable maintenance manuals. Performs required tasks associated with EKMS as directed by Kuwait Air Force and NAVAIR Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions, to include cross-training in all required essential technical specialties, to facilitate the removal, inspection, repair/replacement, installation, and test procedures of aircraft component parts, survival equipment (life rafts, first aid kits, etc..), pneumatic systems, environmental control systems, fuel systems, avionics systems, and all associated aviation life support equipment, airframes, and power plants systems. Inspect, control, and prevent corrosion of aircraft metals and system components using established and approved procedures. Checkout and operate all necessary support equipment for flight line maintenance of established maintenance procedures/ Conducts off station maintenance when required. When necessary, perform other duties and functions critical to the support of the program.</p><p>Material &amp; Equipment Directly Used Must have a working knowledge of and be proficient with (input and extract data) of computers, aircraft data debriefing and diagnostic software (DTADS), and maintenance information systems.</p><p>Working Environment Environmental conditions are diverse and could range anywhere from an office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes in temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust and wind. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Education / Certifications:<br>- High School Diploma<br>- Must be able to obtain/maintain the following required certifications/qualifications:<br>- Aviation Gas Free Engineering (AVGFE) certification<br>- Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) run qualification<br>- I Level Battery Maintenance certification<br>- Applicable Support Equipment licensing<br>- Electric Shop &amp; Comm Nav (210 &amp; 220) Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) qualification<br>- Electric Shop &amp; Comm Nav (210 &amp; 220) Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) qualification<br>- Corrosion Prevention and Control qualification<br>- Confined Space Entry certification<br>Experience:<br>Four years maintenance experience in the C-130J Avionics/Communications/Navigations specialty preferred.<br>Must have a working knowledge of first aid procedures to be used in an emergency.<br>Must have a strong knowledge base of aviation maintenance programs, processes, and procedures (example: Safety, Tool Control, HAZMAT, inspection programs, administrative requirements, support equipment, calibration/torque programs &amp; procedures).<br>Specific Requirements:<br>Must be United States (U.S.) citizen, be able to read, write, and understand the English language<br>Must be able to obtain a United States Passport. If you currently possess a United States Passport it must have at least 24 months of time remaining before expiration.<br>Must be able to obtain and maintain at a Secret Security Clearance.<br>Must have a valid U.S. Driver s License.<br>Must be willing to follow Kuwait Labor Law policies and able to adhere to and comply with all Kuwaiti Labor and Immigration requirements.<br>Must be willing to administrate, maintain, and manage maintenance programs (ex. Tool Control, HAZMAT, FOD, MetCal, etc ) as required by local policies.<br>Must be willing and able to comply with all program functional requirements to include but not limited to:<br>The performance of I Level maintenance functions in support of In-Flight Refueling Reel/system maintenance, NLG &amp; MLG Tire re-building, MLG Brake repair/rebuilding, Battery maintenance support, and Oxygen Regulator testing/repair.<br>Must be willing and able to deploy off-site as required to support Kuwait Air Force operations.<br>Must be willing to work flexible hours, to include day shift, night shift or weekend duty and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team as required.<br>Must have the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and follow instructions when directed on assigned tasks.<br>Must have skills and aptitude to cross train and/or support other maintenance technicians in completing assigned maintenance actions, to include but not limited to:<br>The performance and completion of daily inspections (including the ability to inspect/sign off on all associated aircraft maintenance/technician specialties), marshalling/recovering aircraft, fueling, towing, mooring, and conducting post flight procedures to ensure aircraft are properly secured upon completion of maintenance.<br>As a Subject Matter Expert, must be willing to perform in-depth research, troubleshoot, and perform O and I level maintenance functions on all applicable aircraft systems and components necessary to return aircraft to a Full Mission Capable status; this includes determining material requirements, researching part numbers, ordering, tracking, and receiving materials as required to facilitate aircraft inspections/repairs.<br>Must be able to communicate directly with the customer, pilots, air crew members, management, and maintenance personnel to gather and relay pertinent data/information necessary to ensure aircraft depart timely and launches are not delayed.<br>Must have an in-depth knowledge of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications.<br>Must have an in-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.<br>Must be able to overcome cultural differences and to think outside the box, innovate, and provide solutions to the many complex problems and obstacles associated with international contracting and desert climate operations.<br>Must perform as a team member, contributing to the success of the C-130J maintenance department.<br>Must be dependable and timely in managing assigned tasks, perform consistent quality maintenance.<br>Must have a proven ability to work independently with minimal direction.</p>
