Its purpose is not to find fault it is to give AIU's leadership and Board the confidence that the institution's operations, processes, and controls are functioning as intended and are fit for the purposes the RISE Strategy demands. Where they are not, the Director identifies the gap, quantifies the risk, and recommends practical, implementable improvements. Critically, AIU's internal audit function focuses on operational and process assurance not financial audit. Financial auditing is conducted by AIU's independently appointed external auditor. The Director of Internal Audit does not duplicate that work. <li>Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees, supervisors and assistant managers in the Hotel’s Banquet Department to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met; long-range strategic planning for Banquets operation.</li>

<li>Coordinate set-up requirements for hotel and off-site functions according to the banquet event order, communicate directly with group contacts, Catering Managers, and Conference Services Managers to ensure that all details of the function are carried out, ensure quality and timeliness of all food items, in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience.</li>
<li>The ability to work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef, and Director of Catering to design an effective menu while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price and attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments. Ability to plan and manage Hotel outdoor catering business.</li>
<li>Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.</li>
<li>Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the banquet area and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.</li>

<li>3–5 years of prior experience in high-volume banquet operations, preferably within the GCC.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with Arabic proficiency considered an advantage.</li>

<li>Strong coaching and employee development capabilities, with excellent organizational skills, multitasking ability, and attention to detail.</li>

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this leadership role drives procurement strategy, vendor relationships, inventory management, cost control, capital planning, and compliance while supporting operational excellence across the hotel. Additionally, develop and implement sustainable procurement strategies aligned with the hotel's Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) objectives, brand standards, and corporate sustainability commitments.<br><br>What You Bring<br><br>Minimum five years of hotel purchasing experience, including at least two years in a Director of Purchasing or comparable leadership role . Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost-control experience within a hospitality environment. Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop teams, influence stakeholders, and build strong cross-functional relationships. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written). Preferably knowledgeable about the GCC and Kuwait markets, with an established understanding of local suppliers, sourcing practices, and market dynamics.
