<p><b>JOB SUMMARY</b></p><p><br></p><p> The Marketing and Communications Manager plays a key role in developing and executing the hotel s marketing and communications strategy. Under the leadership of the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role drives on-brand messaging across traditional, digital, and social media channels to strengthen the hotel s positioning, visibility, and customer engagement. The role supports the development of direct marketing plans, targeted campaigns, and channel activations to drive consumer awareness and preference, increase market share, and strengthen overall hotel, portfolio, and brand awareness. A key focus of the position is showcasing Food & Beverage promotions and experiences to both hotel guests and the local market. The Manager is expected to build and maintain strong relationships with local and international media, journalists, editors, and relevant industry contacts, leveraging their platforms to generate exposure for hotel updates, promotions, offerings, events, and key activations. This role requires strong hands-on experience in digital marketing and social media management, including content planning and posting, community engagement, and the planning, execution, and monitoring of sponsored and paid social media campaigns. The Manager should understand how to use digital channels effectively to increase reach, engagement, awareness, and conversion. As part of the Marketing and Communications team, the Manager is closely connected to regional resources and works in partnership with regional eCommerce and Marketing teams to ensure that local, social, and digital marketing efforts are effectively integrated with the hotel s overall commercial and selling strategies. The role covers a broad range of responsibilities, balancing traditional and digital marketing, eCommerce activities, social media, content development, media relations, and public relations (PR) initiatives. Success in this role is measured by the Manager s contribution to the property s sales and revenue strategy, growth in consumer awareness and social media engagement, effective media exposure, successful execution of digital campaigns, and the effective use of available regional and brand resources to develop compelling, on-brand marketing and communications campaigns.</p>
<p>CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Hotel Marketing and Advertising Executes annual marketing plan to budget, in consultation with the GM, Food and Beverage leader, Operations leaders, Director of Marketing Communications, and cluster marketing and ecommerce teams. Partners with Operations, Food & Beverage and Sales teams to execute promotions and campaigns to target in-house guests with promotions that drive incremental revenue to the hotel. Acts as the liaison between the marketing department and advertising agency on the tactical advertising campaigns' creative and media plans, particularly for food and beverage promotions. Manages F&B media schedules and verifies prompt settlement of accounts. Partners with property Revenue Management to verify correct offer loading, verifying advertisement targeting is correctly directed at relevant consumer groups Executes email marketing, and display advertising. Maintains frequent, active engagement with Cluster eCommerce manager to verify alignment, pull-through, and 2-way communication about the status, performance evaluation, opportunities, and issues related to online programs and initiatives. Verifies all advertising for the hotel in digital channels is in alignment with brand voice. Social Media Content Management Develops and manages a comprehensive monthly social media content calendar covering key hotel activities, experiences, events, facilities, outlets, and brand initiatives. Ensures the monthly social media content calendar is aligned with the hotel s quarterly promotional calendar and provides appropriate exposure to offers and initiatives from all revenue-generating departments, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Weddings, Meetings & Events, and other relevant hotel facilities. Develops and executes digital and social media campaigns to promote F&B, rooms, spa, weddings, meetings and conferences, seasonal offers, and hotel events through the most relevant channels. Manages regular social media posting and ensures content is timely, accurate, engaging, visually appealing, and consistent with Marriott brand standards. Plans and manages sponsored social media campaigns, including defining campaign objectives, target audiences, budgets, duration, and appropriate content, while monitoring performance and optimizing campaigns accordingly. Facilitates social media engagement and ensures hotel information and promotional content are updated across relevant local digital channels, including hotel websites and travel platforms. Proactively manages the hotel s online reputation by monitoring guest comments and feedback across social and digital channels, escalating relevant matters when required, and coordinating appropriate responses. Monitors social media and digital campaign performance and provides regular reporting on reach, engagement, audience growth, campaign results, and other relevant performance indicators. Public Relations and Visual Asset Management Develops a comprehensive PR plan per quarter. Maintains a comprehensive database of key local and international media contacts, particularly within the hospitality sector, as well as relevant influencers and bloggers specializing in food, travel, and lifestyle. Writes and distributes all press releases for property events, promotions, and outlets. Manages the execution of hotel-sponsored events, community/government relations activities, and press promotional activities. Supports pull-through of impactful PR strategy & activities to drive quality press coverage through media engagement, in alignment with communications objectives. Verifies the news clippings and other online, print, and social media mention report is completed on a monthly basis for property distribution. Manages external vendors and media agencies; works with agency partners and continent PR leader to identify strategic media buys for their hotel(s). Surfaces and vets PR leads from the continent PR Leader regarding which are the best media to promote the hotel. Supports the co-ordination of photography for F&B advertising, collateral and public relations purposes between the hotel, advertising agency and the regional field marketing teams. Manages photo shoots for seasonal or festive promotions in partnership with the cluster or area marketing team. Acts as central point of contact for regionally approved local photographers for food, amenity, and property imagery; coordinates with area or cluster marketing to verify all photography adheres to brand voice. </p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Education and Experience Required: 2-year degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related major and 4 years experience in the sales, marketing, digital or related professional area; hospitality marketing or digital advertising experience preferred OR 4-year bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related major; 2 years experience in the sales, marketing, digital or related professional area; hospitality marketing or digital advertising agency experience preferred.</p>

This consultancy is part of four projects in Kuwait, each with its respective objective. These projects will be implemented by UNEP’s Regional Office for West Asia in close coordination and collaboration with the Kuwait Environment Public Authority (KEPA), 1- National Environmental Strategy and Action Plan. 2- National Strategic Plan to Combat Desertification. 3- Waste Management Monitoring System and KPIs. 4- National Environment Data Management Strategy and Plan. 1-National Environmental Strategy and Action Plan (NESAP) project aims to develop a comprehensive strategy for Kuwait, addressing key environmental challenges and aligning with Kuwait’s Vision 2040 and global sustainability targets. It involves creating a strategy based on the environmental opportunities and challenges outlined in the State of the Environment Report (SOER), engaging stakeholders to contribute to the framework, and establishing clear, measurable goals and priorities. 2-National Strategic Plan to Combat Desertification project aims to develop a comprehensive plan to address desertification, land degradation, and drought in Kuwait, in alignment with the UNCCD 2018–2030 strategic framework. The project involves assessing the status of land degradation in Kuwait, setting clear and measurable strategic objectives tailored to national circumstances, and creating a detailed national plan to combat desertification. Stakeholder consultations will be conducted to ensure a collaborative approach and to finalize the strategic plan. 3-Waste Management Monitoring System and KPIs Project aims to contribute to the Kuwait Environment Public Authority (KEPA) of Kuwait in developing a monitoring framework and digital dashboard to track and assess the progress of the Kuwait National Waste Management Strategy 2040 (KNWMS2040) towards achieving sustainable waste management goals. Key achievements include creating a comprehensive monitoring framework, developing a user-friendly digital dashboard for real-time insights, engaging stakeholders in the framework and dashboard development, integrating data with existing platforms like EMISK for continuous reporting, and providing training to ensure operational efficiency. 4-National Environment Data Management Strategy and Plan Project aims to develop and implement a comprehensive national plan for environmental data management in Kuwait. This project focuses on ensuring systematic and periodic sharing of data across government entities, enhancing transparency, and supporting informed decision-making based on accurate and reliable environmental data. Key achievements include creating a robust infrastructure for environmental data management, ensuring transparency and sustainability in data exchange, and developing technical capabilities to monitor environmental performance. The UNEP Regional Office for West Asia would like to recruit a well-qualified consultant to coordinate the implementation of the projects outlined above. The consultant will provide technical drafting, review and quality assurance of national strategies and project outputs related to environmental governance, legal and institutional frameworks, and Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs), ensuring their technical quality, legal feasibility, institutional coherence, and alignment with Kuwait’s national commitments and frameworks.
