<p>The Mechanical Metrology Engineer is the resident expert in his field and, in conjunction with the Kuwait Senior Engineer, provides engineering/consultant services to the GOK. Conducts research and studies new equipment to ensure that the latest developments in technique and equipment are included in metrology planning for future acquisition. Assists in the development and implementation of a Metrology QA Program as required. Assists in obtaining and maintaining laboratory QA accreditation. Assesses requirements and develops new measurement techniques and approaches related to mechanical, electro- mechanical, optical, electro-optical, chemical, and electro-chemical calibration methodology. Also performs analysis and evaluation of equipment test and performance requirements, and prescribes calibration approaches, test equipment and servicing requirements necessary to assure measurement traceability. Coordinates with civilian contractor and military civil engineering organizations on all projects affecting metrology facilities to ensure timely completion. Acts as consultant to GOK military and ministries on matters pertaining to metrology facilities and environmental requirements. OR; Completion of a U.S. military precision measurement and calibration school and twelve (12) years of work experience in the metrology and calibration field. Completion of a precision measurement and calibration school at an accredited school, or within a specialized calibration firm, and twelve (12) years of experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating physical/dimensional precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards. I Five (5) years of experience in technical oversight and training responsibilities of calibration and repair technicians with three (3) years within the last five (5) years. The Production Engineer provides real-time support to PSD operations as required, and is responsible for the COSD (i.e. resource consumption). Develop technical job designs as required for the Product Line. Identify areas where new and cost-effective techniques can be applied. Explore opportunities for value-added products and services. Provide technical support throughout the service delivery process. Understand and communicate value of technology and interpretations. Consult with relevant subject matter experts as required to optimize the technical design. Support the OU PSD and/or PSD Manager in the execution phase with design changes as required due to changes in job dimensions, resource availability, service quality incidents, etc. Assist in incident response, recovery, and incident investigation.
