<p><h4>Job description</h4>
<p>The Army Aviation GSE - Ground Support Equipment Mechanic diagnoses malfunctions and repairs ground support equipment.</p>
<p>Three (3) years of aviation GSE experience in the last six (6) years. Actual and recent aviation-related experience in the repair, modification, maintenance, and overhaul of related equipment being serviced and their associated components (APUs, etc).</p>
<p>Inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications.</p>
<p>Uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, and analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools.</p>
<p>Maintains external fuel and grounding systems.</p>
<p>Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE - inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.</p>
<p>Services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.</p>
<p>Diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications.</p>
<p>Disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components.</p>
<p>Removes, disassembles, repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls GSE components and accessories, stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations.</p>
<p>Prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles.</p>
<p>Maintains vehicle records.</p>
<p>Maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records.</p>
<p>Provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations.</p>
<p>Practices good housekeeping, tool control, foreign object damage prevention, and safety at all times.</p>
<p>Performs other qualified duties as requested.</p>
<h4>Minimum requirements</h4>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired.</li>
<li>Three (3) years of aviation GSE experience in the last six (6) years. Actual and recent aviation-related experience in the repair, modification, maintenance, and overhaul of related equipment being serviced and their associated components (APUs, etc).</li>
<li>Valid U.S. passport required, and able to travel internationally with minimum 6 blank pages and two (2) plus years' validity on passport expiration date at the time of hiring.</li>
<li>Must be able to obtain and maintain facility Public Trust NAC-I. Note: U.S. citizenship is required for facility Public Trust NAC-I at this work location.</li>
<li>Able to pass CENTCOM medical requirements for deployment (attend CRC).</li>
<li>Must be able to obtain a Kuwait visa.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Knowledge & skills</h4>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of ground support equipment.</li>
<li>Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams, and schematics is mandatory.</li>
<li>Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work assignments.</li>
<li>Individual must be able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and is required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.</li>
<li>The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.</li>

<h4>Physical requirements</h4>

<li>Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.</li>
<li>Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.</li>

<li>May work in maintenance shop or outside.</li>
<li>Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.</li>

<p>Applicant will participate in organizational level maintenance activities (e.g. flight line tasks including aircraft servicing, inspections, fault diagnosis and component replacement, and structural repair) associated with day-to-day operations of C-17 Globemaster III aircraft to meet KAF mission requirements. As Lead Coordinator you will oversee multiple final scheduled maintenance visit plans and manage a major plan. Leads maintenance debrief and records review. Tracks quality metrics and initiates corrective action</p><p>Position Responsibilities:</p><p>English is the primary language of the KAF community on the airbase in Kuwait. All technical data to perform the tasks and training are in English. Competency in reading, comprehension and speaking the English language is necessary. Serves as the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) shift leader and is responsible for coordination of all aircraft organizational maintenance activities in a fast-paced, dynamic flight line environment and during recurring Home Station Checks. Directs, trains, and mentors a group of multi-level mechanics/technicians in the execution of daily aircraft launch, recovery, pre/post-flight, maintenance activities, and servicing tasks. Maintains a continuous communication link between touch labor, Field Operations management, Boeing support functions, and KAF flight crews. Works with Logistics Data Management function to develop maintenance plans, including prioritizing, scheduling, and reporting of aircraft/maintenance status and accomplishment unscheduled maintenance activities. Understands the critical relationship between the flying schedule and airworthiness requirements/availability of parts when allocating manpower resources. Utilizes sound judgment and critical thinking to evaluate acceptable quality standards before authorizing exceptional release of the aircraft. Liaisons with internal/external customers as the subject matter expert for KAF aircraft condition and operational capability. Utilizes knowledge/experience to evaluate issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans that enhance the overall mission capable rate. Participates with organizational leaders in the development and implementation of plans and objectives (e.g., long-range strategies, organizational goals, objectives and initiatives). Manages, develops, and updates CLS processes/procedures. Tracks quality metrics and reports on the health of the organization. Works independently with very little direction and must be resilient to a fluid environment with changing customer requirements.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><b>Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):</b><ul><li>10+ years of C17 Maintenance experience</li><li>This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.</li></ul><b>Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):</b><ul><li>Experience managing C-17 flight line operational maintenance activities in an Air Force environment highly desired.</li><li>Experience supporting Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program (GISP) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) in a multi-national environment preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of import/export regulations is required.</li><li>Extensive knowledge of Air Force procedures, processes, technical orders, and maintenance information systems (e.g. G081) is a must.</li><li>Wide-ranging and specialized knowledge of the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft and subsystems, including its associated technical network, is required.</li></ul>

<p>The MIR will assist with testing, checkout, maintenance and repair of all Patriot major end items. The MIR will provide the expertise necessary to assist with single repairs, and those repairs that involve multiple end items. The MIR will act as the primary point of contact for the contractor when information is required for repair actions, procedures, solutions, and provide support to KAF contact teams. <p>Employee will be part of the Deployment Pool and will be required to support deployments to various CONUS/OCONUS locations as required. This position will require the member to be flexible in the support of assigned deployment/work schedules.</p> <p> </p> <p>Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual utilization schedules for maintenance. Maintains proficiency in operations of the USAF Maintenance Information System including Core Automated Maintenance System (CAMS), Centralized Engine Management System (CEMS), and other maintenance management database library programs. Maintains equipment records in library files. Collects, reviews, and files documented information for planning and scheduling of various maintenance activities. Ensures accurate documentation is maintained for aircraft engines, munitions, missiles, AGE configurations, Time Compliance Technical Orders, time change items, and special inspections.</p> <p> </p> <p>USAF equivalent position is Aircraft Scheduling & Documentation Apprentice.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Essential Responsibilities:</b> </p> <ul>
<li>Assist in the preparations of the weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual utilization schedules for maintenance.</li>
<li>Will oversee TCTO process for completion and proper documentation with IMDS and/or CEMS.</li>
<li>Maintains assigned aircraft/equipment records in database library files within IMDS and/or CEMS.</li>
<li>Assists in the collection, review, and filing of documented information for planning and scheduling of RPA maintenance activities.</li>
<li>Ensure accurate documentation is maintained for aircraft engines, munitions, missiles, AGE configurations, Time Compliance Technical Orders, time change items, and special inspections.</li>

<li>Must be able to gain/maintain CEMS access for Engine Management purposes.</li>
<li>Employee must meet all OCONUS deployment criteria, to include pre-deployment medical screening, as a condition of employment.</li>
<li>Must be able to Deploy to Forward Locations (other countries) as Directed by the Government.</li>
<li>Must be able to lift, carry and/or wear Military Issued Equipment in excess of 50 pounds for extended periods.</li>
