<p>The UH-60 aircraft mechanic AM-I (UH-60) troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.<br>
Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.<br>
Service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems.<br>
Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.<br>
Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.<br>
Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.<br>
Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.<br>
Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft technical manuals, maintenance information and action messages and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.<br>
Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.<br>
Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and use required expertise in restoring equipment condition and/or operation.<br>

<h4>Minimum requirements</h4>

<p>The Aircraft Mechanic III performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of complex to extreme difficulty. Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Make entries in aircraft logs and records, and responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. Plan, conduct, and supervise aircraft technical inspections. Compute basic weight and balance records. Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required. Ensure compliance with aircraft configuration control, Army oil analysis Program and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration. Determine test method and prepare fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection. Interpret nondestructive inspection test results and provide information about defects to repair center. Analyze wear metal content reports on engine lubricating oil and other fluids and recommend corrective action. Establish radiation areas for radiographic operations. Compute and monitor personal exposure areas for radiographic operations, and monitor personnel exposure data. Perform nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems. Detect flaws such as cracks, delamination s, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrate testing, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment. Determine metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors. Operate, maintain, and inspect nondestructive equipment.
