<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <p>Overview **This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP** Responsible for coordinating and executing repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on including, but not limited to, indoor lighting systems, electrical systems and apparatus, primary power distribution systems and panel boards, outdoor facility lighting, construction projects, and HVAC systems. Responds to emergency power and back-up systems failures. Monitors and tests various electrical systems. Coordinates inspections for contractors performed work in renovations and new construction projects. Locates electrical underground electrical utilities for various projects. Ensures personnel exhibit superior workmanship and focuses on a quality end product. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all tasks are accomplished safely and with an emphasis on quality. Provides direct oversight for Journeyman Electricians. Verifies actual hours worked by personnel to accurately report manpower expenditure. Ensures personnel completes all tasks in accordance with local Safety, Environmental, and Health directives. Provides leadership and mentors junior personnel to develop appropriate skillsets. Addresses customer concerns in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner. Uses a Computer Maintenance Management System (Maximo) to correctly capture data related to maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance inspections, and emergency/urgent customer requests. Ensures personnel accurately capture data on maintenance work order requests and preventive maintenance inspection forms for upload into the Maximo database. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. + Coordinates and executes preventive and corrective maintenance troubleshooting and repairs on facility electrical systems and apparatuses + Supervises inspections and repairs on Main Power Distribution Systems, Panel Boards, and indoor/outdoor lighting systems + Conducts project review and continual training of assigned personnel + Monitors and tests various electrical systems + Oversees repair to line voltage for all HVAC systems + Responds to emergency power outages and back-up system failures + Maintains accountability and serviceability of assigned toolsets and equipment + Conducts tests and inspects equipment, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance + Records and reports all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders + Ensure compliance with UFC, MEW, Performance Work Statement, and applicable regulations + Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications + Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. + Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field + Education can be substituted with work experience on a year for year basis + Must possess a driver’s license from country of origin for the purpose of obtaining a Military and/or Kuwait driver’s license + Experience: + Minimum of 14 years Electrician experience + Must have an excellent understanding of all safety directives and policies regarding the operation of equipment + Certification: + Must have a valid Masters’ Electrician License + Skills + Thorough knowledge of Electrical Codes + Ability to manage multiple job sites and priorities + Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds + Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator + Must have basic computer skills + Working Conditions: + Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. + Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. + Physical Requirements: + Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. + Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. <p>Installs and maintains low-voltage (480/277, 600 volts) and below (50/60 HZ) single and multi-phase power wiring. Installs feeder and branch circuits including conduit, service wire, fuse and breaker panels, switches, outlets, junction and outlet boxes, lighting fixtures, splices, connectors, and ground wiring for red and black installations. Ensures that the material used, and workmanship meets the requirements of the applicable technical and safety standards. Provide detailed reports on equipment s failures maintenance requirements and lifecycle replacements. Respond to service calls and preventive maintenance inspections orally or in writing through computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) regarding malfunctioning/inoperable equipment. Use US Army quality assurance procedures to ensure that the material used, and workmanship meet the requirements of the applicable DoD and military specifications, criteria, procedures, and technical/safety standards. Provide electrical design input to engineering installation plans and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP). Provide 24-hour 7-day quick reaction technical support to mission critical equipment s. Performs power quality measurements on the commercial and technical power of the facility and plans actions for correction of any deficiencies. Supports US Army systems on site whenever and wherever deployed. Available to deploy to other countries and/or theaters to perform quick reaction technical support to US forces worldwide military contingency missions and requirements in potentially hazardous work environments. Able to maneuver in small spaces and lift up to 50lbs.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Bachelor's degree and 3 plus years of experience or College, Vocational School, or High School diploma or equivalent and a combination of 10 years education and experience leading to licensure as a Master Electrician, or equivalent licensure or certification at a state level; or 12 years experience in an equivalent Military Electrician training/certification. US Citizen with an active TS/SCI is required. Must have knowledge of and experience in developing solutions to unique security requirements inherent with US Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and their classified operations, including classified data processing protection.</p><p>Experience in the management of an operational military unit/activity or civilian equivalent is required. Experience leading planning charrettes, working with DoD clients, and presenting to and engaging with military leadership.</p>
