<p>Job Purpose The Data Center Mechanical Engineer owns the mechanical and cooling infrastructure of the data center at engineering level, from the central cooling plant through to the data hall cooling environment. The role is responsible for mechanical maintenance strategy, system reliability, operational procedures, environmental performance, vendor management, safety compliance, spare-parts planning, and emergency response. The Mechanical Engineer directs the Mechanical Manning Technicians, authorizes equipment changeovers and critical maintenance activities, approves mechanical procedures, and acts as the mechanical technical authority during incidents and operational escalations.</p><p>Key Responsibilities and Areas of Ownership</p><ul><li>Take engineering ownership of the data center mechanical and cooling infrastructure, including chillers, cooling towers, chilled-water pumps, condenser-water pumps, heat exchangers, CRAH units, CRAC units, AHUs, ventilation systems, fans, filters, coils, valves, actuators, piping systems, and associated controls.</li><li>Manage the operation, reliability, and performance of chilled-water and precision-cooling systems serving the data halls and supporting areas.</li><li>Own mechanical equipment operating procedures, changeover procedures, start-up and shutdown sequences, and equipment rotation plans.</li><li>Authorize, lead, and supervise critical mechanical activities, including chiller changeovers, pump changeovers, cooling-tower changeovers, isolation activities, system draining, system filling, and restoration of equipment to service.</li><li>Monitor and maintain data hall environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, airflow, differential pressure, cooling capacity, and equipment loading.</li><li>Review chilled-water supply and return temperatures, water flow, system pressure, differential pressure, valve positions, and system delta-T to identify performance issues and operational risks.</li><li>Manage cooling redundancy and capacity to ensure sufficient cooling remains available during maintenance, equipment failure, testing, or abnormal operating conditions.</li><li>Own the mechanical safety program, including Lockout/Tagout, Permit to Work, risk assessments, safe isolation, refrigerant safety, chemical-handling controls, and compliance with HSE requirements.</li><li>Develop and manage the annual mechanical Planned Preventive Maintenance program in accordance with OEM recommendations, equipment criticality, maintenance history, and cooling-system performance, equipment efficiency, energy consumption, operating trends, alarm history, temperature profiles, water-flow conditions, and equipment loading.</li><li>Identify and implement opportunities to improve cooling efficiency, airflow management, chilled-water performance, equipment sequencing, and overall energy performance without reducing system resilience.</li><li>Investigate mechanical faults, high-temperature conditions, leaks, abnormal vibration, low-flow conditions, low delta-T, equipment trips, control failures, and recurring alarms.</li><li>Lead root cause analysis for mechanical incidents and equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.</li><li>Direct, develop, and train Mechanical Manning Technicians in operational procedures, inspections, first-line maintenance, alarm response, safe isolation, and incident escalation.</li><li>Review technician shift logs, inspection checklists, Customer Requirement & Solution Development:</b></p><ul><li>Meet customers to understand their cybersecurity challenges, risks, compliance requirements, and existing security infrastructure.</li><li>Identify gaps in the customer’s current security environment.</li><li>Work with presales engineers, SOC teams, security architects, and vendors to develop appropriate MSSP solutions.</li><li>Prepare service proposals, solution presentations, Statements of Work (SOWs), RFP/RFQ responses, and quotations.</li><li>Coordinate technical workshops, demonstrations, assessments, and proof-of-concept activities.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>4. Account Management:</b></p><ul><li>Establish relationships with CISOs, CIOs, IT Managers, Security Managers, Risk Managers, and Procurement teams.</li><li>Manage existing MSSP accounts and identify opportunities for renewals, upselling, and cross-selling.</li><li>Monitor customer satisfaction and coordinate with service delivery teams to address commercial or service-related issues.</li><li>Drive long-term managed-services contracts, contract renewals, and recurring revenue.</li><li>Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the service lifecycle.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>5. Commercial Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Prepare and negotiate commercial proposals within approved pricing and margin guidelines.</li><li>Coordinate with cybersecurity vendors, technology partners, and distributors.</li><li>Negotiate contract terms, service scope, pricing, SLAs, and renewal conditions.</li><li>Track proposals, purchase orders, contracts, renewals, and payments.</li><li>Ensure MSSP opportunities meet required profitability and business objectives.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>6. Services Handover & Delivery Coordination:</b></p><ul><li>Coordinate the handover of won opportunities from Sales to SOC, Security Operations, Project Management, and Service Delivery teams.</li><li>Ensure the agreed scope, SLAs, service requirements, and customer expectations are clearly documented.</li><li>Participate in customer kick-off meetings where required.</li><li>Coordinate with service delivery teams to ensure customer expectations are met.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p> </div><h2 class="h5">Skills</h2>
<div data-jb-field="skills"><p><b>Education & Qualification:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Business Development, IT, Computer Science, Business, Cybersecurity or a related field. </li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Education & Qualification:</b></p><ul><li>Minimum <b>5 years of relevant experience in the Kuwait market</b>. </li><li>Proven experience in MSSP, SOC, cybersecurity, managed services, or IT solution sales.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Special Skills:</b></p><ul><li>Strong understanding of SIEM, SOC, EDR/XDR, MDR, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and incident response.</li><li>Good understanding of recurring-revenue and managed-services business models.</li><li>Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.</li><li>Ability to engage effectively with CISOs, CIOs, IT/security teams, procurement, and other senior stakeholders.</li></ul></div>
