<p><h4>Job description</h4> <p>The aircraft mechanic III performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of complex to extreme difficulty.</p> <p>Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.</p> <p>Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.</p> <p>Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturer's manuals.</p> <p>Make entries in aircraft logs and records, and responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.</p> <p>Plan, conduct, and supervise aircraft technical inspections.</p> <p>Compute basic weight and balance records.</p> <p>Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.</p> <p>Ensure compliance with aircraft configuration control, Army oil analysis program, and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration.</p> <p>Provide lower level technicians guidance in aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards, and operational policies.</p> <p>Prepare evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance, repair, and related activities.</p> <p>Perform other duties as requested.</p> <h4>Minimum requirements</h4> <p>This role requires candidate to obtain Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check through UK Govt prior to deployment.</p> <p>Completion of high school or equivalent required.</p> <p>Five (5) or more years aviation maintenance experience within the past ten (10) years on that mission design series (MDS).</p> <p>Experience in maintenance, modification, and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components.</p> <p>Must be in possession of a passport with 3 years of validity remaining at the time of hire and be able to travel internationally.</p> <p>Able to clear CENTCOM medical for deployment.</p> <h4>Knowledge & skills</h4> <ul> <li>Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.</li> <li>Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.</li> <li>Basic knowledge of electrical theory and a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.</li> <li>Working knowledge of technical publications and logistics information systems.</li> <li>Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and is required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.</li> <li>Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.</li> <li>Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by mechanics.</li> <li>The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.</li> </ul> <h4>Physical requirements / working environment</h4> <ul> <li>Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.</li> <li>Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.</li> <li>Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee, and reach above/below shoulders.</li> <li>May be required to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.</li> <li>Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.</li> <li>Will handle dirty parts and lubricants.</li> <li>Will be required to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).</li> <li>Must be able to pass a respirator physical and fit test qualification.</li> <li>May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.</li> <li>Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds.</li> <li>May work in maintenance shop or outside.</li> <li>Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.</li> <li>May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.</li> <li>May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.</li> </ul></p><p></p>

<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles &amp; Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>The Non-Destruction Inspection Technician (NDI) III inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis. Conduct the training and examination on all NDT methods to certify and to re- certify all operators and inspectors as outlined in NAS 410 or ASNT-CP-189. Determine test method and prepare fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection. Interpret nondestructive inspection test results and provide information about defects to repair center. Analyze wear metal content reports on engine lubricating oil and other fluids and recommend corrective action. Establish radiation areas for radiographic operations. Compute and monitor personal exposure areas for radiographic operations, and monitor personnel exposure data. Perform nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems. Detect flaws such as cracks, delamination s, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment. Determine metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors. Operate, maintain, and inspect nondestructive equipment. Perform operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools. Ensure lock out and tag out procedures are accomplished prior to maintenance on equipment. Perform silver recovery functions. Handle and dispose of hazardous waste and materials Perform other qualified duties as assigned.</p></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><ul><li>Completion of high school or equivalent and U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required.</li><li>Trained and certified as an Examiner (Level III) to monitor the NDT Program, interpret codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the NDT method, will be certified to review their own x-rays.</li><li>Three (3) years experience as a Non Destructive Inspection (NDI).</li><li>A Valid US Passport is Required for deployment to Kuwait.
