- Design and implement an inventory tracking system to optimize inventory control procedures. Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures. Ensure stock levels are neither surplus nor deficit.
- Classify/ categorize inventory (stock levels) as per requirements of the business. Maintain stock levels for raw materials, plant machinery/ spare parts and finished goods.
- Establish good practices (policies and procedures) for inventory management and warehousing practices and implement the same as per plan.
- Examine and inspect the levels of supplies and raw material to determine shortages. Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers.
- Document daily deliveries and shipments to update and reconcile inventory.
- Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.
- Evaluate new inventory to ensure it is ready for distribution.
- Perform daily analysis to predict potential inventory problems.
- Order new supplies to avoid inefficiencies or excessive surplus.
- Analyze different suppliers (raw materials) to obtain the best cost-effective deals. Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting the area and related equipment’s; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Recruit and train new employees.
Skills
Educational Qualifications:-
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Just in Time, Administration, or equivalent degree.
- Experience in a relevant industry preferable to household goods, fast-moving consumer-goods (FMCG) and products.
- Analytical - ability to analyze large amounts of data.
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain, Inventory Management and Warehousing techniques and procedures.
- Communication and coordination skills.
