Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. + Provides direction in the accomplishment of the maintenance and repair of systems associated with fire detection, suppression and other equipment that is a component part of the overall fire protection system + Performs inspection, testing and maintenance of fire protection systems IAW UFC 3-601-02 using NFPA 72 and NFPA 25 as guidelines, as well as other model building codes as directed. + Utilizes test equipment and meters such as voltmeters, ammeters, telephone test sets, smoke detector sensitivity testers, and wire tracing equipment, and others for locating and diagnosing equipment, distribution, and control system malfunctions. + Utilizes computer software to program fire alarm control panels and perform load calculations for installed systems + Utilizes various hand tools, shop tools, and equipment in accomplishing repairs and maintenance of these systems and components. + Troubleshoots and repairs fire protection circuits and equipment. Recognized journeyman or craftsman-level qualification for fire alarm systems. Examples include, but are not limited to, certification in Fire Alarms (NICET level III, Water Suppression (NICET Level III), and Special Hazards Suppression Systems (NICET Level III), formalized labor organization-based journeyman training, valid current qualification of license from any state, and factory training. + Associates degree and two years experience or High School Diploma and six years experience that can be documented. Examples include: previous job descriptions, DD214 and Military/Civilian Performance reports, job experience letter on company or corporate letterhead from previous employers. + A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Operates high and low voltage switches, circuit breakers, rheostats, and other controls on switchgear and distribution panels. Performs corrosion control. Inspects and replaces gauges and meters. Maintains aircraft arresting systems, including electrical, hydraulic, rewind, and pneumatic systems, and other electronic components. Bench checks components and subassemblies. Tests and calibrates repaired items. Reviews performance data and maintenance records to determine adequacy of maintenance. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education/Certifications: + Prior military service of AFSC 3E072, Power Production Journeyman + Must be MAAS/BAK-12 Factory Trained &amp; Certified + High school diploma or equivalent. + Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S. Passport and Driver’s License (able to drive manual transmission). + Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment. + Must have the capability of obtaining an Air Force flight line driver’s license. + Must be able to pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge. + Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc. + Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training.
