HR Business Partner

Role Purpose

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic and operational partner to business leaders, ensuring alignment between people strategy and business objectives. The role focuses on driving organizational effectiveness, talent performance, workforce planning, and employee engagement while ensuring compliance with Kuwait labor regulations and Kana Group policies.

The HRBP balances strategic advisory, hands-on HR delivery, and change leadership, supporting leaders to build high-performing, compliant, and engaged teams.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

1. Strategic HR Partnership

  • Partner with business leaders to translate business plans into effective people strategies.
  • Advise leadership on organization design, workforce structure, and capability requirements.
  • Support annual manpower planning, budgeting, and headcount governance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on people risks, succession planning, and leadership effectiveness.

2. Talent Management & Performance

  • Lead and support performance management cycles (goal setting, mid-year, year-end reviews).
  • Coach managers on performance calibration, feedback, and development planning.
  • Support identification of high-potential employees and succession pipelines.
  • Partner with Learning & Development on capability gaps and targeted interventions.

3. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Manage employee relations cases professionally and confidentially, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
  • Advise managers on corrective actions in line with Kana policies and Kuwait labor law.
  • Support engagement initiatives, culture programs, and employee feedback actions.
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex or sensitive people matters.

4. Recruitment & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring plans, role clarity, and selection decisions.
  • Ensure job descriptions, grading, and compensation alignment with the Kana Career Framework.
  • Support onboarding effectiveness and early-stage employee integration.

5. Compensation, Benefits & HR Governance

  • Support implementation of salary structures, grading, promotions, and increment cycles.
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and compliant application of HR policies and practices.
  • Participate in HR audits, policy updates, and compliance reviews.

6. Change Management & Culture

  • Support organizational change initiatives, restructures, and transformation projects.
  • Act as a culture ambassador, reinforcing Kana values and leadership behaviors.
  • Support leadership communications during periods of change.

7. HR Data, Reporting & Analytics

  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, performance trends, headcount).
  • Provide actionable insights to leaders to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate HR documentation, employee records, and reporting discipline.

8. Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Corporate HR, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams.
  • Liaise with external advisors when required (legal, medical, government authorities).

9. General Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties and tasks assigned by the direct manager or senior management.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional HR certification (CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent) is an advantage

Experience:

  • 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in an HRBP or senior HR generalist role
  • Proven experience supporting managers in a multi-business or fast-paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Kuwait Labor Law and HR compliance requirements
