Job Summary

The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and firefighting systems based on tender documents, technical drawings, and market rates. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, market awareness, and a solid understanding of MEP systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents (BOQs, drawings, specifications) to understand project scope.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Prepare competitive cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and verify compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop technical and commercial proposals.
• Participate in value engineering and post-tender clarifications when required.
• Maintain and update the cost database with latest market pricing.
• Ensure timely and complete submission of bid packages.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering.
• 3–7 years of experience in MEP estimation/tendering within the contracting industry.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation tools (e.g., CCS Candy, PlanSwift).
• Excellent analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with local/GCC codes, materials, and suppliers.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Team player with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
