Our client is building an online auction marketplace and are looking for an Operations Manager to help operate and manage day to day. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in startup environments, loves building systems from the ground up, and knows how to balance strategy with hands-on execution.
You’ll own core marketplace operations end to end, from platform workflows and logistics to marketing execution and application-level coordination, and play a key role in shaping how the business scales.
Roles:
Day to Day Operations:
• Lead day-to-day operations of the online auction platform, ensuring auctions run smoothly from listing to fulfillment
• Design, implement, and continuously improve operational processes that support growth and scalability
• Analyze data and monitor operations using the admin board.
E-commerce & Platform Leadership
• Oversee e-commerce operations including payments, delivery status, seller onboarding, and customer experience.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams on application handling, feature rollouts, testing, and bug fixing.
• Act as the operational owner of the platform — spotting problems early and driving solutions fast.
• Finding different income streams and plan for future scalability.
Logistics & Fulfillment
• Build and manage logistics workflows, including shipping, vendors, third-party partners, and returns
• Optimize cost, speed, and reliability as auction volume grows.
Marketing & Growth Enablement
• Partner with marketing to plan and execute auction campaigns, promotions, and growth initiatives
• Ensure operational readiness for marketing pushes and high-volume auction events
• Analyze campaign outcomes and translate insights into operational improvements
Build & Lead
• Serve as a cross-functional leader connecting operations, marketing, customer support, and tech
• Help hire, train, and scale the operations function over time
• 6+ years of experience in operations leadership within a startup, e-commerce, or online marketplace environment
• Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, logistics, and digital customer journeys
• Experience working closely with technical teams and handling application-level operational issues
• Comfortable creating processes where none exist and improving them as the business scales
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset — willing to dive in when needed
