Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, compliance, and analysis within our oil and gas operations. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial management and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with management on financial reporting, budgeting, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial insights for strategic planning.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits, providing required documentation and resolving queries.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems/ERP.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven leadership experience and ability to manage/mentor a team.
