The Role
Own revenue growth across structural, tank fabrication, and piping packages—opening doors, shaping technical solutions with our engineering/production teams, and winning bids from EPCs, contractors, and end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development
- Identify and engage decision makers at EPCs, main contractors, refineries, and utilities; map projects and vendor lists.
- Build account plans; run outreach via meetings, calls, site visits, email, and events.
- Opportunity & Tender Management
- Qualify RFQs for structural steel, API 650/653 tanks, ASME B31.3 piping, platforms, skids, and general fabrication.
- Coordinate site surveys, clarifications, and technical/commercial queries.
- Prepare BOQs/MTOs, pricing, and proposals; lead tender submissions and negotiations.
- Technical & Delivery Alignment
- Work with engineering/production/QC on WPS/PQR, weld maps, NDT scope (UT/RT/MT/PT), coatings (NACE/SSPC), hydrotests/leak tests, and erection methodology.
- Review GA/detail drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, shop drawings; propose value engineering and buildability improvements.
- Marketing & Pipeline
- Plan targeted campaigns (sector-specific mailers, project win stories, yard tours).
- Maintain CRM: pipeline health, activity tracking, forecast, and win/loss analysis.
- Targets & Reporting
- Meet/exceed monthly/quarterly target, report on market trends, competitors, and pricing movements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
- 7-15+ years in sales/BD within steel fabrication or construction in Kuwait (structural/tanks/piping exposure preferred).
- Working knowledge of relevant codes/standards: API 650/653 (tanks), ASME B31.3 (piping), AWS D1.1 (structural), ASME Sec IX (welding).
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, GA/detail drawings, and create basic MTO/BOQ.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; proven record of lead generation and closing.
- Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM (e.g., HubSpot/Zoho/Salesforce). Exposure to AutoCAD/Tekla (viewing) is a plus.
- Kuwait driving license and willingness for yard/site visits preferred.
