Job description

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Input Patient prescription data in the hospital information system. This includes correctly reading names of drugs ordered, confirming dosages, and labelling containers. Checks with the Pharmacist in case of any doubt.
• Assists in the issue of daily request of drugs to be stocked in wards and units. Completes orders by issuing items not prepared for delivery by shift staff the previous night e.g. refrigerated items.
• Assists in pre-packing medicines in the various standard size containers for ready dispensing in accordance with the daily requirements of the particular drug.
• Literacy in computer operation of the latest software applications. Minimum typing speed expected is 45 words per minute.
• Performs other related duties such as giving work direction to the pharmacy orderly, recording names of drugs in short supply and using strict, hygiene in all functions.
• Arranges medication received from Medical Store on shelves according to the expiry.
• Prepares and collects medication from shelves for dispensing process.
• Assists Pharmacy Staff in daily physical count of controlled mediations.

Independence of Operation & Accountability:

• Accountable for inputting all prescription data to meet dispensing medicines to established standards.

Skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (Pharmacracy )
• Minimum 3 years of post-degree work experience as a pharmacist.
• Fluent in English and Arabic is a must.
