Job Description:
- Operate, maintain, monitor, diagnose, and repair one or more systems or subsystems associated with power generating and distribution networks. Perform regular walk-throughs of the plants and make minor adjustments to improve performance.
- Log key data such as vibrational levels, temperatures, and pressures.
- Run load tests on generators and perform voltage changes on generators based on customer requirements. Interpret and execute both in-house and manufacturer's instructions and procedures.
- Identify and remove defective components and install working replacements. Perform checkouts and assist operators in safely returning systems to normal operations.
- Perform preventative maintenance including refilling fluids, changing filters, cleaning equipment, collecting samples of oils for testing, and checking pips and wiring.
- Perform all field and sustainment level maintenance according to applicable Army regulations and the Original Equipment Manufacturer's specified maintenance procedures for emergency generators and fuel pods.
- In addition, test back-up power and associated UPS in accordance with DISAC 350-195-2. Perform monthly checks of all batteries and UPS systems. If necessary, replace batteries and coordinate the safe disposal of depleted batteries. Ensure maintenance records are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
Education Requirements: None.
Certification Requirements: DoD 8570 Baseline Certification requirements. EGSA Technician certification is required within six months of starting. Industrial generator training and/or certification is desirable.
Experience Requirements: Four (4) years of experience in electronics or industrial utility systems such as distribution grids, emergency power generators, transformers, and UPS systems.
