Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on ammonia refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in the refrigeration systems.
- Replace defective components and wiring and adjust controls to ensure the efficient operation of the system.
- Monitor and control the operation of the ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Record and maintain accurate logs of system operations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
- Adhere to all safety standards and protocols related to the handling and use of ammonia and other hazardous materials.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Participate in safety training and emergency response drills.
- Provide technical support and training to other maintenance staff and plant operators regarding the refrigeration systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technical personnel to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system performance, and repairs.
- Prepare and submit reports on system performance, maintenance schedules, and safety compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
Required Educational Qualifications & Work Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems in an industrial setting.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and tolerate various weather conditions.
