Job description

Purpose

To manage, control, and supervise the receipt, storage, issuance, and tracking of materials for flowlines, pipelines, civil works, and associated construction activities in Oil & Gas projects, ensuring material availability, quality preservation, and compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Material Receiving & Inspection

  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, specifications, and delivery documents.
  • Perform visual and quantity inspection of pipes, fittings, valves, and coating materials.
  • Coordinate with QC team for material inspection and acceptance.

Storage & Preservation

  • Supervise proper storage of materials as per manufacturer and project requirements.
  • Ensure segregated storage for different material types and maintain required environmental conditions.
  • Monitor and control material preservation activities including coatings and end protectors.

Inventory Control & Issuance

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock counts.
  • Issue materials to site teams against approved requisitions and track consumption.
  • Implement FIFO system and minimize material wastage.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse, and Construction teams for timely material availability.
  • Prepare daily/weekly material status reports and highlight shortages or surpluses.
  • Support audits, client inspections, and material handover documentation.


Skills

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum 10 years experience includes 5 years as Material Supervisor in Oil & Gas EPC pipeline projects.
  • Strong knowledge of material handling for pipes, valves, fittings, and coating materials.
  • Proficiency in material management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
