Key Responsibilities
Coating Inspection & Application
- Inspect surface preparation (blasting) and ensure required cleanliness and profile standards.
- Monitor coating application (3LPE, FBE, paint systems) including thickness and adhesion tests.
- Check environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) before and during coating.
Quality Testing & Verification
- Perform holiday detection, adhesion, impact, and hardness tests on coated surfaces.
- Witness and verify repair of coating defects.
- Ensure compliance with coating material specifications and manufacturer’s recommendations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily coating inspection records, log sheets, and test reports.
- Prepare weekly coating inspection summaries for management and client.
- Issue non-conformance reports (NCR) and follow up on corrective actions.
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with coating subcontractor and QC teams.
- Attend progress meetings and support client inspections.
- Ensure all works meet project specifications, ISO, and international standards.
Skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 6 years experience as Coating Inspector in Oil & Gas pipeline projects.
- Valid certifications: NACE Level II / III or BGAS-CSWIP (mandatory).
- Thorough knowledge of pipeline external/internal coating systems.
