Key Responsibilities
Welding Inspection & Quality Control
- Perform visual inspection, fit-up checks, and dimensional verification before, during, and after welding.
- Conduct welder qualification tests and monitor welding procedures (WPS/PQR).
- Verify welding consumables, preheat, and post-weld heat treatment as per specifications.
NDT Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate and witness Non-Destructive Testing (RT, UT, MPI, DPI).
- Review NDT reports and ensure acceptance criteria are met.
- Maintain daily welding inspection logs and records.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all welding works comply with API 1104, ASME, and KOC standards.
- Identify non-conformances and issue NCRs with recommended corrective actions.
- Prepare weekly welding inspection reports and handover documentation.
Team Coordination
- Attend daily/weekly meetings with construction and QC teams.
- Provide technical guidance to welders and supervisors.
- Support client inspections and third-party verifications.
Skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 6 years experience as Welding Inspector in Oil & Gas pipeline projects.
- Valid certifications: CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 or AWS CWI (mandatory).
- Knowledge of pipeline welding and NDT techniques.
