Job Summary:
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The role involves supplier management, negotiation, purchase order processing, and monitoring deliveries to support smooth business operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement process, including sourcing, selecting, and evaluating suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and requirements.
- Follow up on orders and deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve any delays or discrepancies.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and identify new vendors to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure adequate stock availability.
- Analyze purchasing data and market trends to support cost control and budgeting efforts.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing operations.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Good understanding of procurement processes and inventory management.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on cost control and efficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems is an advantage.
