Gulf British Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, talented and vision-aligned drama teacher to teach across KS2 and Secondary, as part of our growing school in the heart of Kuwait.

Founded in 2005, GBA is a thriving, BSO-accredited British international school catering for pupils from Pre-KG to Year 12. In 2020, we moved into our purpose-built, state-of-the-art campus, reflecting our ongoing commitment to offering exceptional experiences for both pupils and staff.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a UK-qualified, skilled and passionate drama teacher who:

• Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils through engaging and supportive learning experiences
• Creates an inclusive, vibrant and inspiring learning environment
• Delivers engaging drama lessons across KS2 and Secondary
• Uses drama strategies such as role-play, improvisation, script work and performance to support learning
• Embeds oracy, dialogue, performance and reflective discussion into everyday teaching
• Champions creativity, collaboration and expressive communication
• Plans engaging and progressive schemes of work aligned with the National Curriculum for Drama/Performing Arts
• Supports learners in becoming confident performers, articulate communicators and reflective thinkers
• Contributes positively to productions, assemblies, performances and whole-school events

Applicants must be fluent English-speaking graduates holding a UK DfE teacher number or completing their final year of training.

You will be a creative, adaptable and passionate drama practitioner who:

• Delivers high-quality drama lessons across KS2 and Secondary
• Uses performance, structured talk and collaborative learning to deepen understanding
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge in acting, devising, performance and theatre practices
• Builds respectful, encouraging and supportive relationships with pupils and families
• Applies assessment effectively to support progression and performance development
• Collaborates positively with colleagues and contributes to whole-school performing arts provision
• Uses technology where appropriate to support rehearsal, performance and reflection
• Participates enthusiastically in school productions, clubs and wider performing arts opportunities
• Holds a clean enhanced DBS / police clearance
• Is able to relocate to Kuwait promptly and be ready to teach on 1 September

Essential requirements

• UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – PGCE, BEd or equivalent
• UK bachelor’s degree in Drama, Performing Arts or a related discipline
• Successful and recent teaching experience in a UK or BSO-accredited school
• Experience delivering drama across KS2 and/or Secondary
• Strong classroom management and high expectations for pupil behaviour
• Strong communication and organisational skills
