Position Title: Full Professor/Associate/Assistant Professor of Finance

School of Business

American International University (AIU), Kuwait

Position Summary:
The School of Business invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Finance at the rank of Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching Finance and at least one additional tangential Business-related sub-discipline (e.g. Accounting, Business Analytics), maintain an active research and/or creative practice profile, and engage with contemporary technologies and methodologies. The appointee will contribute to undergraduate education, curriculum development, student mentorship, and institutional service within a collaborative and multicultural academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Curriculum Development:

• Deliver innovative undergraduate courses in Finance and at least one additional tangential Business-related sub-discipline (e.g. Accounting, Business Analytics).

• Integrate emerging technologies such as AI-assisted design tools, and interactive platforms into the curriculum.

• Develop and update course content to reflect industry standards and accreditation requirements.

• Supervise senior projects and guide students.

• Maintain rigorous assessment standards.

Research & Scholarship:

• Maintain an active research agenda in Financeand/or additional tangential Business-related sub-discipline .

• Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.

• Engage in interdisciplinary projects and pursue external funding where applicable.

• Contribute to strengthening the School s academic and professional profile.

Service and Institutional Engagement:

• Engage actively in departmental, school, and university committees.

• Support program assessment, accreditation documentation, and quality assurance activities.

• Participate in student recruitment, outreach initiatives, and/or community engagement.

• Offer academic advising and mentorship to students.

• Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the academic community.

Qualifications

Required

• Academic Credentials:
  PhD in Business Administration, Finance, Business Analytics or similar.

• Teaching Experience:
  Minimum of five years of university-level teaching experience (for Associate & Full Professor ranks), with demonstrated teaching excellence.

• Professional Expertise:
  Strong evidencing professional and/or research-based work in the area of the professional expertise.

• Technical Skills:
  Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g. Bloomberg).

• Research and Scholarship:
  Evidence of peer-reviewed publications, and/or recognized professional practice.

• Communication Skills:
  Strong written and oral communication skills in English.

• Cultural Competency:
  Experience working effectively in multicultural academic environments.

Preferred

• Emerging Technologies:
  Expertise in AI implementation.

• Accreditation Experience:
  Familiarity with accreditation standards (e.g., AACSB or equivalent).

• Industry Engagement:
  Professional industry experience and active engagement.

• Capstone Supervision:
  Experience supervising senior thesis or multimedia capstone projects.

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
  Record of collaborative and/or externally funded research.
