The Structural Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate structural drawings and technical documentation for buildings and infrastructure projects. The role supports structural engineers by translating design concepts, calculations, and specifications into detailed construction drawings that comply with applicable codes and project standards

- repare structural drawings including:
- Foundations
- Columns, beams, slabs
- Stairs
- Retaining walls
- Steel and concrete reinforcement details
- Develop shop drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and detailed sections.
- Interpret sketches, engineering calculations, and design instructions from structural engineers.
- Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings to avoid clashes.
- Revise drawings based on design changes and engineer/client comments.
- Ensure drawings comply with local and international standards and codes.
- Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions.
- Assist in preparing drawings for approvals, tenders, and construction use.
- Support engineers during construction phase by providing clarifications and updated drawings.
Skills
Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Drafting Technology (or equivalent).
Professional drafting certification is an advantage.
5 to 10 years of Exp
roficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
Knowledge of Revit Structure, Tekla, or other BIM software is an advantage.
Strong understanding of structural detailing for:
- Reinforced concrete
- Structural steel
Familiarity with building codes and standards (ACI, BS, Eurocode, IS, etc.).
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under minimal supervision.
