Purpose oversees the operations of an automotive body repair shop, ensuring high-quality repair work and efficient workflow.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing and coordinating the activities within the body repair shop.
- This includes overseeing technicians, ensuring quality standards, managing workflow, customer service, and maintaining safety regulations
- The supervisor plays a key role in ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality repairs on vehicles while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Supervision and Team Management:
- Supervise and manage a team of body repair technicians, painters, and other shop staff.
- Assign work to technicians based on skill levels and job priority.
- Ensure that staff are trained in the latest repair techniques and safety practices.
- Monitor and review work performance, providing feedback and support where needed.
Operations Management:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the body shop, ensuring efficient workflow and minimizing downtime.
- Inspect vehicles and evaluate repair needs based on customer requests and damage assessments.
- Ensure that all repair work is completed to the highest standards and in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Develop and maintain work schedules to meet deadlines.
Customer Service:
- Communicate with customers to provide updates on repair progress, timelines, and costs.
- Handle customer concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving any issues.
- Provide estimates for repair jobs and ensure transparency in pricing and procedures.
Quality Control:
- Conduct final quality checks on vehicles before they are returned to customers.
- Ensure all repairs meet company and industry standards for safety and aesthetics.
- Oversee compliance with local regulations and industry best practices.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
- Maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment necessary for repairs.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Order replacement parts and materials as needed while managing costs and minimizing waste.
Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures within the shop.
- Ensure all technicians are following proper safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including the proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Prepare reports on shop performance, productivity, and profitability for management review.
- Accountable for qualitative and quantitative operations of body shop.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
