Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Solar Systems Sales Engineer to join our team, with a focus on driving the growth of our solar energy solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in solar energy, coupled with excellent sales acumen. They will drive the growth of our solar business, with responsibilities including, but not limited to, solar system sourcing, supplier negotiations, system design & diagrams, sales & project pitching, business development, and client & supplier relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Relationship:
· Identify and source high-quality solar panels, inverters, and related components from trusted suppliers/factories.
· Ensure that all sourced products meet the required standards.
· Engage in effective negotiations with manufacturers and factories to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules while maintaining quality.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships.
Sales and Business Development:
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the solar energy market.
· Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the solar industry, including market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements.
· Prepare and deliver compelling presentations during Sales & Project pitches to potential clients.
· Convert leads into successful projects by effectively communicating technical details and financial savings.
· Create B2B channels for wholesale sales.
· Negotiate contracts and close deals.
· Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and project status.
Project Management:
· Oversee and manage solar projects from inception to completion.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects.
· Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the suitability of sites for solar installations.
· Prepare technical proposals, including system design, equipment selection, and cost estimation, tailored to client needs.
· Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
· Coordinate with the electricity regulatory body to get relevant approvals.
Client Engagement:
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
· Present solar solutions clearly and compellingly, addressing technical questions and highlighting financial and environmental benefits.
· Act as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution and after-sales support.
· Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to clients.
Technical Expertise:
· Create detailed solar system designs and diagrams, focusing on optimizing efficiency and meeting specific client needs.
· Provide technical guidance on the best solar solutions, particularly for on-grid systems.
· Serve as the technical expert on solar energy systems, providing guidance and support to both internal teams and clients.
· Stay up to date with the latest developments in solar technology, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, inverters, energy storage solutions, and monitoring systems.
· Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients and internal teams on solar products, system maintenance, and energy efficiency.
· Recommend new solar products and services, providing input based on customer feedback and market demand.
Reporting and Documentation:
· Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance.
· Provide insights into market trends and competitor activities to help shape strategic decisions.
· Ensure that all technical proposals, contracts, and financial analyses are accurately documented and easily accessible for review.
· Regularly update senior management on key project milestones, challenges, and opportunities.
· Ensure all documentation meets internal standards and regulatory requirements.
