Job Details

FUNCTION: Provide support in the daily operations of the department. Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all AU IT Systems.

PRIMARY TASKS:

  1. Provide first level support for computer software and classroom technology equipment used.
  2. Respond to requests for technical assistance in-person, via phone, and electronically.
  3. Install and maintain computer equipment.
  4. Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
  5. Perform typical maintenance tasks to support the daily operations of the department.
  6. Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.
  7. Prioritize and manages multiple projects simultaneously and follow-up on issues in a timely manner.
  8. Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams and supervisor.
  9. Creates, updates, and/or maintains AU-developed operational guidelines and various in-house recordkeeping systems as needed.
  10. Follow the university rules, guidelines, and regulations.
  11. Perform other related duties as required.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY: To ensure that duties are carried out to a satisfactory standard.

DIRECTION/SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Direction is received from the Manager- Network and Systems Support.

Skills

SELECTION CRITERIA:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications such as A+, Network+, MOUS, and/or MCP are preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure, unsupervised, and as a member of a team.
