Job Description

  • Oversee daily operations of the facilities management department, ensuring efficient and effective management of all resort and complex facilities.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Manage contractors and service providers, including negotiating and maintaining contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor the maintenance of landscaping, public areas, and recreational facilities.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accuracy in maintenance and new project installations.
  • Ensure that facilities meet building codes, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Oversee capital improvement projects, including new construction, renovations, and retrofitting of facilities, ensuring all work complies with industry standards and local building regulations.
  • Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovation projects to ensure alignment with facility management requirements and operational needs.
  • Identify and address potential construction-related issues, such as site safety, material selection, and structural integrity, to avoid delays and ensure project quality.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of construction practices, building materials, and regulatory changes that impact facility management and construction projects.
  • Ensure quality control in construction projects, verifying that the work adheres to the approved plans, specifications, and timelines.
  • Prepare and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
  • Supervise staff and provide leadership, training, and development opportunities to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Respond to facility-related emergencies and manage repair schedules to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale properties, such as resorts, commercial complexes, or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance management, and sustainability practices.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, architectural plans, and construction blueprints.
  • Professional in using engineering and facility management software such as AutoCAD, Revit, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and MS Project.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Facilities Management (CFM), Construction Management, or a related professional qualification.
  • Experience with property management software and project management tools.
