Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Adjunct Professor specializing in Communication and Negotiation to join our Executive Education program. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of communication strategies and negotiation techniques, particularly within a business context. This role is vital in equipping senior executives and professionals with the tools they need to communicate effectively, negotiate successfully, and resolve conflicts in a manner that drives organizational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and continuously refine course materials that cover the fundamentals of effective communication, negotiation strategies, conflict resolution, and the psychological principles that underpin these skills. Ensure the curriculum is comprehensive, practical, and aligned with the latest industry trends and best practices.
- Course Delivery: Lead interactive, hands-on sessions that engage senior executives and professionals, helping them to enhance their communication and negotiation capabilities. Utilize a range of teaching methods, including role-playing, case studies, simulations, and group discussions, to create a dynamic and immersive learning experience.
- Skill Application: Provide practical guidance and mentorship, encouraging participants to apply communication and negotiation techniques to real-world business scenarios. Support participants in developing strategies for managing difficult conversations, negotiating deals, and resolving conflicts in their organizations.
- Industry Integration: Stay current with the latest trends, research, and developments in communication and negotiation, including the impact of cultural differences, digital communication, and crisis management. Continuously integrate this knowledge into the curriculum to keep the course relevant and forward-looking. Engage with industry experts to bring real-world insights into the classroom.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Education team to ensure that the course content aligns with the broader goals of the program and meets the needs of industry professionals. Participate in curriculum reviews, program development, and other collaborative initiatives to enhance the quality and impact of the Executive Education offerings.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Business, Psychology, or a related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications in negotiation, conflict resolution, or communication training are highly desirable.
- Professional Experience: Significant experience in corporate communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, or related fields, with a proven track record of applying these skills in a business context. Experience in consulting or coaching senior executives on communication and negotiation strategies is highly desirable.
- Teaching Experience: Prior teaching experience at the university level, particularly in executive education or professional development programs, is preferred. Experience in developing and delivering online or hybrid courses is also an advantage.
- Communication and Facilitation Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage, inspire, and facilitate discussions among a diverse group of senior professionals. Strong facilitation abilities, including the capacity to manage group dynamics and foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Continuous Learning: A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest advancements in communication and negotiation. Active involvement in professional organizations, industry networks, or continuing education is encouraged.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
