Summary
Grand Hyatt Kuwait is looking for a passionate, creative and dynamic Director of Operations with a strong back ground in luxury Food and Beverage. The hotel features 302 luxury rooms and suites, four world class F&B venues and the largest conference and convention facilities in the city.
The role align to candidates who appreciates delivering high-end and bespoke guest experiences whilst ensuring the efficient running of all aspects of the operations in line with hotel strategies and brand standards.
As a member of the Leadership Committee, the Director of Operations is a highly visible role and reports to the hotel General Manager.
The Director of Operations will directly oversee all hotel and Residences services.
Duties include:
- Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of hotel and residences operations in the front and back of the house
- Develop and recommend the budget and objectives for all operating departments and then managing within those plans once approved
- Ability to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance the guest experience, colleague experience or position of property within the market
- Monitoring all standards and operating procedures for all operating departments
- Analyzing rate variances, monitoring credit reports & maintaining a close observation of daily house counts to maximize hotel revenues
- Coordinating major projects such as renovations, capital expenditures, & equipment changes.
- Conducting operations meetings, including monthly financial review with hotel leaders
- Supporting revenue & occupancy forecasting & monitoring labor expenses accordingly through schedule approval process.
- Hiring managers & training subordinate managers and colleagues
- Coaching and counseling employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
- 5 years or more of progressive hotel operations experience in a leadership role
- Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
- Proven leadership skills
- Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset
- Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
- Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
