Business Development Officer

We are seeking a dynamic and driven business outreach and engagement specialist to join our team. This role involves reaching out to businesses, building strong relationships, onboarding them onto our platform, and maintaining ongoing communication to ensure their satisfaction and engagement. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for supporting local businesses, and the ability to identify and onboard new business opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:

·      SME Outreach: Proactively reach out to SMEs in various industries to introduce them to our platform, explaining the benefits and opportunities it offers. Utilize various communication channels, including phone calls, emails, social media, and in-person meetings, to establish initial contact and build rapport with SME owners and decision-makers.

·      Onboarding: Guide SMEs through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition onto the platform. Provide training and support as needed, assisting with profile setup, product listings, and overall platform navigation.

·      Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with onboarded SMEs, serving as their primary point of contact. Regularly check in with businesses to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure their continued satisfaction with the platform.

·      Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to onboard more SMEs onto the platform. Research and analyze market trends to identify potential partners and industries for expansion. Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to create effective strategies for attracting and retaining SMEs.

·      Feedback and Improvement: Gather feedback from SMEs to identify areas for platform improvement and enhancement. Work closely with the development and product teams to implement changes that align with the needs and preferences of our business partners.

·      Networking and Events: Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking gatherings to connect with potential SME partners and promote the platform. Represent the company professionally and enthusiastically, showcasing the value and benefits of joining our community.

Skills

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or relationship management, preferably within the SME sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with business owners and decision-makers.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and technology, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
