Job Description
A) Job Summary:
An Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and safety regulations to ensure that all work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
B) Key Responsibilities:
- Installation:
- Install electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and control systems in new construction projects.
- Install and connect electrical fixtures, appliances, and equipment such as switches, outlets, circuit breakers, transformers, and distribution boxes.
- Maintenance and Repair:
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet the requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards.
- Troubleshooting:
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to understand electrical layouts and determine wiring configurations.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions to resolve problems promptly.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including installations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Prepare and submit reports on the status of electrical systems and any issues identified.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with contractors, engineers, and other tradespeople to ensure coordinated efforts on construction projects.
- Provide guidance and training to apprentices and junior electricians as needed.
C) Experience :
- At least 5 years of experience in the field, with an experience certificate provided
D) Education:
- Two-year post-secondary diploma in Electrical Technology (ITI/Diploma) or equivalent.
E) Remarks
- The role is Kuwait based/transferable residency is a must.
- The budget for the role is KD 400/- (unnegotiable).
- The role is outsourcing for a client - Oil and Gas sector.
- Immediate joiners are a preference.
Skills
- Proficiency in using electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
