Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supporting the CM in implementing the Department Strategy and Category plans, selecting brands and items, and setting the prices.
• Supporting the CM in monitoring the economic performance of the assigned departments/categories across store formats - sales, gross margin, Profit & Loss - and consistency with the Company's commercial strategy.
• Supporting the CM in implementing Corporate policies, procedures, and standards and recommending refinements taking into consideration Country needs for approval by the Division Manager and the Corporate Team.
• Supporting the Category Manager in defining/maintaining the local assortment.
• Assisting in pricing the items based on pricing guidelines and recommended prices for PL / imported items.
• Assisting in identifying local promo products and pricing each item and submitting forecasting/relevant reordering information to replenishment.
• Providing the Corporate team with information regarding products needed - characteristics, positioning, etc., and quantities for international and regional contracts.
• Coordinating with other functions, Operations, Logistics, and E&M as well as other areas in merchandise - Private label, Promo, Display, etc.
• Providing support in the selection of local suppliers, negotiating & purchasing in line with expected needs guided by corporate guidelines and standards such as cost price, discounts, rebates, payment term discounts, etc.
• Reviewing and attending to/resolving any issues with local suppliers.
Skills
Skills and Experience:
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in merchandising preferably with a leading FMCG retailer (Buying or/and Sales experience)
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Excellent communication and management skills
• Energetic and motivated personality with great multitasking.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially in MS Excel.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and networking skills. An ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
