Job Overview: 

We are looking for a skilled Fashion Showroom Buyer (Procurement Manager) to oversee the procurement of women's and children's fashion clothing from overseas vendors. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and selecting merchandise that aligns with local market trends and customer preferences. Your primary goal will be to curate a diverse and attractive collection of clothing items for our showroom, ensuring that we stay ahead of the competition and meet the needs of our target audience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Vendor Sourcing and Selection:

• Identify and establish relationships with overseas vendors and suppliers of women's and children's fashion clothing.

• Conduct market research to stay informed about current trends, styles, and emerging brands.

• Evaluate vendor capabilities, product quality, and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.

• Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors to secure favorable agreements.

2. Product Selection and Procurement:

• Collaborate with the design and merchandising teams to develop product assortments that appeal to our target market.

• Review product samples and prototypes to ensure quality, fit, and adherence to brand standards.

• Place orders with vendors based on product demand, sales forecasts, and inventory requirements.

• Monitor production timelines and coordinate shipments to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.

3. Market Analysis and Trend Forecasting:

• Analyze local market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for product assortment expansion and improvement.

• Attend trade shows, fashion events, and industry seminars to stay abreast of new developments and innovations in the fashion industry.

• Utilize sales data, customer feedback, and market insights to inform purchasing decisions and optimize product mix.

4. Inventory Management and Optimization:

• Monitor inventory levels and sales performance to identify fast-moving and slow-moving items.

• Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and maximize sell-through rates.

• Work closely with the inventory management team to forecast demand and ensure adequate stock levels of key products.

• Conduct regular inventory audits and markdowns to maintain healthy stock turnover ratios.

5. Relationship Management:

• Cultivate strong relationships with vendors, negotiating favorable terms and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to align purchasing strategies with overall business objectives.

• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide updates on product availability, delivery schedules, and vendor performance.

Skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising, business administration, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a fashion buyer or merchandiser, with a strong understanding of the fashion industry and market trends.

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with overseas vendors and negotiate favorable terms.

• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and market insights to drive purchasing decisions.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.

• Fluent in English, with additional language skills preferred.

• Passion for fashion and a keen eye for emerging trends and styles.
