Develop, formulate and optimise oilfield chemicals within EEC's portfolio, which covers:
Drilling fluids: fluid loss control agents, viscosifiers, shale inhibitors, lubricants, emulsifiers and wetting agents.
Cementing: retarders, fluid loss additives, dispersants, gas migration control, spacers and flushes.
Stimulation: acid corrosion inhibitors, mutual solvents, surfactants, non-emulsifiers, iron control agents and viscoelastic surfactants (VES).
Production: corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, demulsifiers, H2S scavengers and produced-water treatment chemicals.
Plan and carry out laboratory testing to API and industry standards, including:
Drilling fluid testing (API RP 13B): rheology, HPHT fluid loss and hot rolling.
Cement slurry testing (API RP 10B): thickening time, fluid loss, free fluid and compressive strength.
Stimulation fluid testing: acid compatibility, emulsion and sludge tests, and corrosion testing.
Production chemical testing: bottle tests, LPR and weight-loss corrosion testing, and scale inhibition tests.
Prepare technical data sheets, test reports and technical submissions.
Evaluate raw materials, alternative chemistries and suppliers to deliver cost-competitive, locally manufactured products.
Work with Production on scale-up from laboratory to plant.
Supervise laboratory technicians and work closely with Sales, Production, Procurement and QHSE.
Support Management in identifying new product opportunities.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
5–8 years' direct R&D or laboratory experience with oilfield chemicals.
Proven hands-on formulation and testing experience in at least one of these areas: drilling fluids, cementing, stimulation, production chemicals.
Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and customer-facing skills.
Applicants without oilfield chemicals experience (e.g., paints, coatings, construction chemicals, pharmaceuticals) will not be considered for this role.
