Job Details

The School of Engineering and Computing invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Mechanical Engineering at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, maintain an active research profile, and engage with emerging technologies and methodologies. Responsibilities include undergraduate teaching, curriculum development, student mentorship, research, and institutional service, while contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, student-centered, and multicultural academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses with a focus on practical and industry-based learning.
  • Integrate industry practices, engineering projects, standards, codes, and real-world case studies into teaching.
  • Use modern engineering tools and technologies, including AI, CAD, CAM, simulation, automation, robotics, and data analysis.
  • Teach and support key areas of Mechanical Engineering, including design, manufacturing, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials, mechanics, HVAC, and energy systems.
  • Support curriculum development, accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with faculty and industry on applied research, consulting, innovation, and engineering projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of university-level teaching experience, with demonstrated excellence in teaching and student engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of current Mechanical Engineering practices, standards, and technologies.
  • Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools, such as CAD, CAM, simulation, automation, or data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, teamwork, and organizational skills in English.
