Software Development Manager Location:
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Software Development Manager to lead our enterprise and custom development unit. You will manage and mentor a team of developers, set goals and best practices, and own the design, development, maintenance, and upgrade of our custom applications and enterprise systems. This role requires strong technical depth across both front-end and back-end development, along with experience integrating enterprise platforms such as Oracle EBS and IBM Maximo.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a development unit covering both enterprise and custom application development.
- Set goals and objectives for the development team and ensure they are met.
- Mentor and guide developers, evaluate performance, and provide constructive feedback.
- Drive continuous improvement in development processes, following best practices such as ITIL.
- Ensure the team follows best practices in software development, security, and operations (environment and version control, QA/testing, change and release management).
- Maintain and enhance the organization's application and enterprise systems footprint.
- Develop front-end web architecture and ensure applications are optimized across devices.
- Build and maintain back-end applications and databases, including third-party API integrations.
- Lead the reporting strategy, covering both the backend data repository and front-end reporting tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver product features.
- Write reusable, testable, efficient code; debug and troubleshoot issues.
- Implement security and data protection measures, and monitor application performance and scalability.
- Stay current with emerging web development trends and technologies.
- Review code and provide technical guidance to ensure quality standards are met.
- Produce technical and user documentation (manuals, guides, tutorials).
Skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience, including experience leading or managing developers.
- Strong proficiency in C#, JavaScript, PHP, TypeScript, VB .NET, VBScript, and DAX.
- Experience with front-end frameworks (Angular, AngularJS, Knockout) and back-end frameworks (Node.js, PHP).
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server.
- Knowledge of Oracle Development platforms (Forms, Reports, PL/SQL).
- Knowledge of BI tools (OBIEE) and reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Oracle Cloud (OCI, APEX) and integration (OIC) experience is a plus.
- IBM Maximo 7.6 development expertise; Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 8 knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Git, AWS.
- Experience with Entity Framework Core or other modern ORM tools.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and SOAP web services.
- Experience with desktop app development using WinForms.
- Familiarity with CSS, HTML5, Angular Material, and Bootstrap.
- Experience with Classic ASP, MVC, Razor, and Web Forms.
- Experience with WebSocket and SignalR for real-time communication.
- Familiarity with ASP.NET Identity and dependency injection frameworks.
- Experience with Java, J2EE, Python, Spring MVC, Spring JDBC, and web services; WebLogic 12c is a plus.
- Experience integrating enterprise systems (Oracle EBS, Oracle OIC, Maximo, and others).
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices (change, incident, and project management).
- Experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with machine learning, data analysis, or generative AI is a plus.
