Job description
We are looking for a skilled Asphalt Plant Mechanic to carry out maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting works for asphalt plant equipment and related machinery. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the plant operates efficiently with minimum downtime by performing preventive and corrective maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance and repair works for asphalt plant equipment.
- Inspect and maintain conveyors, belts, rollers, gearboxes, motors, bearings, elevators, screens, dryer drum, burner components, pumps, valves, and bitumen lines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and carry out urgent repairs to reduce production downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
- Replace damaged or worn-out parts and ensure proper alignment and fitting.
- Coordinate with the plant operator and maintenance supervisor regarding plant issues.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts in good condition.
- Assist in plant startup, shutdown, and inspection activities.
- Follow safety procedures during maintenance works, especially lockout/tagout and hot work activities.
- Keep maintenance records and report required spare parts.
Skills
Previous experience as a mechanic in an asphalt plant, crusher plant, batching plant, or similar industrial plant is required.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, belts, and industrial equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical faults quickly and safely.
Basic welding, cutting, and fabrication skills are preferred.
Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and understand equipment manuals.
Good practical knowledge of preventive maintenance.
Ability to work under pressure during plant breakdowns.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Commitment to safety rules and proper use of tools and PPE.
Previous experience in Kuwait or GCC is preferred.
