Roles & Responsibilities

I- Function:

- To supervise, operate and perform testing on construction materials.

- To organize test programs in the Laboratory.

- To ensure accurate measurement of the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of construction

materials according to documented procedures.

- To ensure a smooth and efficient day to day operation of the Laboratory by direct supervision and close

co- ordination with heads of departments (Physical; Chemistry and External operations and logistics).

- To ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in the testing operation in the Laboratory by

streamlining testing activities and associated logistics with minimum costs in labor and material.

- To ensure that the testing operation output exceeds customer expectations.

II- Reporting to the:

- Head of Operations (Sites and Branches)

- Laboratory Manager

- General Manager (or Deputy General Manager).

III- Supervising:

- Senior Technicians.

- Technicians.

- Data Encoders.

- All affiliated personnel.

IV- Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ensure satiny work place in the central laboratory.

- Examine and prepare samples for testing.

- Prepare the testing schedule of the central laboratory and issue internal testing instructions to heads

of departments.

- Maintain all laboratory equipment, vehicles, training apparatus, documents, books, manuals and

inventory allocations.

- Direct and advise personnel in special test procedures to analyze components and physical properties

of construction materials.

- Maintain testing records.

- Participate in the sales activities and budget of the Labs.

- Test and analyze sample products for chemical properties such as chlorides, sulfates, organic

impurities, organic matter, pH, and Total dissolved solids.

- Conduct field sampling, testing, and non-destructive testing.

- Test, analyze and approve samples for physical properties according to all the standards adopted by

the company.

- Ensure implementation of all health and safety adopted procedures.

- Compile and analyze test information to determine operating efficiency of process or equipment and

to diagnose malfunctions.

- Meet with inspectors, engineers, contractors, and/or developers to determine corrective action

required when there are discrepancies between work done and the approved plans, specifications and

standards.

- Calculate and check the test results and assist in the preparation of the report.

- Approve test results.

- Review final test reports as directed by the Laboratory Manager.

- Ensure maintenance and calibration of test equipment in the central laboratory

- Prepare daily summary checklist and hands it over to Laboratory Manager.

- Prepares weekly summary report of the overall operation of the department and hands it over to


VI- Qualification:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.E.) in Civil Engineering, preferably with one to two years related experience in laboratory

testing of construction materials. Good knowledge of the Quality Management system adopted in the company.

Language Ability: ( Arabic ,English)

Arabic: Read, Spoken and Written

English: Read, Spoken and Written

Skills:

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where

only limited standardization exists.

- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Conversant with ISO 9001, ISO 17025and HSE systems.

Computer Skills:

Internet software, E-mail, MS office, Inventory and data base software.
